Somaliland Security Forces Chase Somalia Minister out of Badhan

Somaliland’s National Defense Forces stationed in Badhan barracks have chased out of Somalia’s Planning minister, Mr. Jama Mohamed Hasan and his delegation who paid a visit to eastern Sanaag. The planning minister for Somalia’s federal government hails from Badhan and Somaliland national army exchanged fire with the minister’s bodyguards which they could not withstand with the robust and superior forces of Somaliland soldiers. According to reports coming from Badhan confirm that soldier from Somaliland’s national defense forces sustained minor injuries while two bodyguards of Somalia’s planning minister have been injured. This confrontation which Somaliland’sNational Army have overpowered the minister’s bodyguards forced them to flee from Badhan district which lies in the east of Sanaag province. This is the secondattempt made by Somalia’s minister whocame to the eastern regions as it is interpreted as a clear violation of Somaliland’s territorial integrity.

This comes after PL tried to "stop" voting in some areas of SL , so SL sent security forces and chased them off .

This is the Waziristan of Somalia we are talking about. Neither Mogadishu nor Hargaisa has much of a say on what goes in this part of the Peninsula. The area is run by local clan militia whose loyalty can never be wholly relied on by either side.
