Addis Abeba, January 13/2018 – Protesters in Afar regional state have today blocked the main road connecting Ethiopia to Djibouti, the main import export route.

Protesters are demanding an end to what they said were violent incidents in the past several weeks perpetrated by armed men from the Somali Isa ethnic groups, which claimed the lives of many and caused property destruction, according to this blog. The road blockage is happening between the cities of Semera and Awash. Pictures released by activists show several trucks standing on the roads. In addition, the Ethio-Djibouti railway is also affected by the blockage.

The blog further said that protesters were unhappy about a recent decision by the federal government to remove the region’s special forces from areas where the violence happened. They are also demanding the withdrawal from the area of the Isa ethnic groups and explanation from the regional and federal authorities

I knew it all along ODP was plotting to finish off opposition.

Now Oromos are split.Tigrayans celebrating. While Amharas ready to take leadership after Oromos become significanly weak.

So this is zero sim game for oromos.

Kkkk you guys are funny. Everyone should condemn this, odp maybe still a puppet, we may need to reignite our struggle. However......
The Oromo will never be under anyone again, this is similar to Somalis, it's oromo competition for power. Not clan based but party based.
A faction of the OLF operating in western oromia may have been infiltrated by tplf but that area has been an area of conflict for a while now. Many groups, armed, are there doing Allah knows what.
The other OLF factions are peacefully touring oromia getting supporters for 2020 elections.
Dawud ibsas general refused to disarm and this is what we have now. Dawud cannot condemn his army even If he may have agreed to peaceful struggle. "those are his boys".
It's also foolish to think the army reformed all of a sudden. Tplf is still influencing it.
Abiy cannot control it fully, for sure, the army is so powerful it's damn near autonomous.
Even if he's generally working to change that, it'll take a while to reform a 27 year old tplf dominated institution.
We'll see civil war, or one party will emerge victorious and then peace will reign.
The latter is more likely tbh. OLF faction in only a few areas cannot handle Ethiopians army that is well armed and battle hardened and has a state behind it.
Remember it took eplf, tplf, wslf, alf, all together fighting derg, to win..

BTW the issa afar fight is why the afars protesting, who is behind it? Hmmm.

Waachis if TPLF use Afars to block that passage then Oromos will be cut off.
The Djibouti~Addis Ababa route is very vital and the TPLF will not allow it easily for Abye.
Moyale to Addis Ababa route is shutdown because of Qerro.

Oromo Muslims are being bombed to smithereens and yet, Waachis supporting blindly Abiye. I predicted this outcome the days Waachis was busy on celebrating.

Look how Amhara are making accountable the government for the loss of few Amharas shot and killed by the government.

Oromo must have the lowest IQ in the world. Who bombs their fellow Oromo brothers who are not a big threat. Yet let’s Tigray walk around untouched.
Who celebrates the killing of fellow Oromo Muslims by a Christian. Waachis your IQ must be borderline retarded max, if not lower.

Idiots wallaga is mostly protestant Christian, dawud ibsa is Christian, and lamma is from there as well and abiy is from the same clan as the areas the Air Force attacked, so it's a power struggle not a religious or even clan war.

Secondly, the olf faction there cannot compete with Ethiopians army, whether it be morally right or not, it's what it is, no single liberation group can challenge the state unless the state is seriously weakened....
One small faction of OLF cannot do that alone...
Oromo have no appetite for more war and carnage, they want t peace and development...
At the same time....
But when it comes to the war for hearts and minds, at least in wallaga and areas like guji, opdo is going to lose in the long run, at this rate, so we'll see what that leads to....

Akkami Waachis brother, the Somalis on this website have the religious affiliations messed up, but I don't expect these brothers to know tbh, they're not Oromo.

Waachis - whatever your thoughts on Shanee, the level of escalation by the fed government is absolutely unacceptable. Abiy's comments were misplaced - he really should have kept a lid on his public rhetoric in the interests of peace and reconcilliation.

We now have a situation where Oromo civilians are being attacked from the air and people are fleeing their villages.
There's no excuse for this when feds have ample armed forces already stationed in Qellem and elsewhere.

I hate to admit it, but Abiy is showing himself to be a fraud and a false prophet for us.

Agreed. I hope more Oromos see this. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Abiy only has interests that fit his in-laws and other half. He’s not Oromo and shouldn’t be seen as one. His interest lie with the old Ethiopian empire of menilik, not the like of Jara Abba Gada, Elemo Qiltu, Waaqa Guutu etc.

The OPDO is a political group of so called Oromos who no nothing but servants of their habesha masters.

What’s happening in Wallaga is a shame and shouldn’t have happened at all. Why are they bombing Oromia and not other regions. Why are they too scared to go after the TPLF? They’re time is coming for an end. Hopefully Oromos see this sooner so we can get rid of the ODP once and for all.

Both shane and opdo share in the blame, most of it being on opdo since they're the alleged ones in charge which I doubt
I an starting to believe tplf ghosts still run things
With or without the secret approval of abiy, lamma and others
Shane should have not accepted the deal without clearly discussing it with their members.
Jaal maaro refused to disarm and has been in the forests of western oromia ever since, they cannot capture him apparently.
The thing is, I feel there's something shady going on there in the west part of oromia.
We're not getting the full story.
Why would they need to bomb shane if they only have 5000 soldiers?
Is Shane stronger than some of us assumed or are being told?
Not justifying it, but if shane is strong enough, they must be sharing opdo.
We know tplf and the Ethiopian army has always hated the OLF regardless of the faction, so...

Ethiopian army is not autonomous it takes orders from Abye. There is nothing Shaodwy about TPLF.

Its Abye sorry Lemma Magarsa in charge.

OPDO know very well that they have nil chance to win elections in two years so they are laying the grounds for their victory elections.

How is it possible that The Ethiopian army cannot touch TPLF does that said they will not hand over Getachew?

But are quick in killing somali demonstrators in jigjiga. They mowed down children and women IDPs who were demonstrating against qerro burning their villages.

OPDO is a naftanya party. They are trying to potray OLF as being a TPLF mole. The pot calling the kettle black.
