Last week 22 homeless youth/ children demonstrated in front of the ministry of labour and social services. The ministry called the local lawless police and all 22 were hauled up to jail.

After been remanded for few days they were brought up in Hargaysa court , charged with holding unlawful protest. Yesterday 20 of them were sentenced to 6 months in prison, their new prompt up charge is now been under the influence of glue .

They got jailed simple beacuse they demanded their constitutional right under clause 19 of SL constitution states that the government is responsible to aid insane citizens and children with no family to support them.

Welcome to SL, now instead of prosecuting the people that violated the civil right of these youth. Biixi and his junta are punishing them for exposing the system.

In few days as usual some fat cat will realse them in feigned great fanfare for PR reasons and damage control, in front of few cameras and he will be thanked for his benevolence and the kids will go back living in the gutter in the cold hungry, learning their lessons to never demand your right or else.

Meanwhile the political class are blaming one another for the disappearance of 80 million and non of them will spend a day in the local police station.

It's also reported that the imam of gebiley masjid is arrested today . This is normal day to day job . Funny but I don't think it's a big issue peaple should get used to the new system. At the end of the day law and order is better than doing nothing .

These children were homeless alcoholics that’s the main reason for their arrest. I have no mercy for any alcoholics. These children need rehabilitation. They were harming somaliland by drinking alcohol openly in public. I hope this teaches them a good lesson and they behave like good citizens in the future.

Ma markay xaqoodi dooonteen baa xabag nuugoodi Lagu xidhay? Caqli yaraa idoor Ku. Everybody in SL know homeless children sniff glue and police and government didn't give a damn, now how convinent now to all of a sudden charge them with been high on glue?

Furthermore they initially were not charged with been high and instead were charged with unlawful demonstration, then failing to prove that the government then added these new charges. Why we're not they charged with intoxication from the get go?

That’s the governments line. Anyway Whether they were alcoholics or not it is the governments responsiblity to care for the children they say they represent. How you and Yusuf are justifying the action of a government that puts 20kids behind bars for protesting for HELP is beyond me.

They’re sleeping in the streets as children, do not know where their next meal is coming from and you want them to go to jail so they can learn to be good citizens. SMH
