Re: Historic image of Dhulbahante Horsemen in the 1850s
Dhulbahante are a nation who fight chiefly on horseback their arms being 2 spears and a shield. Their horses are powerful and courageous; the breed descended, according to Somali tradition, from the stud of Suleiman, the son of David, and consequently highly valued. The Dulbahante, as far as I have seen them, are a fine martial race of men, second to none of the branches of Darrood either in conduct or appearance, and they are described as being courteous and hospitable to the stranger who visits them.

in all probability, the best off in horses were the Dulbahanta

The other people I met here were some Dulbahantas arming for the fight. They said they were 4000 strong in cavalry, and were slaughtering sheep wholesale for provision on the road. Each man carried a junk of flesh, a skin of water, and a little hay, and was then ready for a long campaign, for they were not soft like the English (their general boast), who must have their daily food; they were hardy enough to work without eating ten days in succession, if the emergency required it.

Being triggered by a compliment is not a good place to be in the realm of mental health

Actually little missy i am very familiar with all the quotes above and the image. The Dhulbaante pictured above were begging and performing Dabaal Dag for the Dutch explorer. This was 1897 when supposedly these panhandlers were anti-Gaallo and hated Christian as your uncle Cismaan Bacaac daily advertise in the Daarood probaganda mouthpiece wardheernews.original dervish wrote: Sat Mar 09, 2019 10:02 am Eydoors were not even on the radar during this era, with perhaps the exception of hy
The Dhulbaante were visited first by Swayne in 1891 and they begged and quarrelled among themselves like vultures, Swayne had an utter disdain for their disgusting behavior. Between 1892-1895 the Dhulbaante were been visited by a number of Italian explorers. In 1895 their country was visited by captain Welby, in 1896-97 by Merewhether, in 1896 by Peel , in 1897 by this Dutch explorer " wandering in East Africa" and finally in 1898. Not a single time did these explorers found anything noble about this clan. They found to be backward, poor savages, greedy servile and we'll accommodating.
In short all Cismaan Bacaacas worse nightmares are true and all his myth of " Gaalo hating warriors" just pure fiction.

The man is a full blown coon......he believes whites in Somalia are to be worshipped.
We fougjt and killed them to save the people from mass conversion to Christianity.
He is also a murtad....so maybe that's why he's sore.

No, they described the idoor as destitute and helpless. Why would you think they would respect their illaloes and lackeys? They were used and discarded lik a Condon by the BritsPrinceNugaalHawd wrote: Sun Mar 10, 2019 3:05 am Richard Burton & Lieutenant Speke I believe where on the same trip one from, Zella to Harar the other from Laasqoray to Jidali then on to Berbera area.
