Meeting to Discuss Rebuilding Somalia's Roads Held in Mogadishu

Post by Turbulence »

Dhismaha Wadooyinka Dalka Somalia
This probably won't happen anytime soon but the fact that they are discussing rebuilding and creating new roads that connect all the regions is a good thing.
Shirka ayaa laga sheegay in waddooyinka la dhisayo ay ka mid yihiin Baladwayne – Gaalkacayo, Gaalkacayo – Garoowe, Gaalkacayo – Hobyo, Iyo Luuq Ganaane – Doolow, iyadoo oo ay shirka ka qaybgaleen Wasiirada Hawlaha Guud ee dowlad- gobolleedyada dalka, Madax kasocotay Bangiga Horumarinta Afrika, Midowga Yurub ,Khubaro iyo Ingineero Soomaaliyeed.
I am surprised by their choices though. Don't they already have a road from Gaalkacyo to Garowe and Beledweyne to Gaalkacyo? And Luuq to Doolow doesn't make. Baydhabo to Buurdhuubo/Beled Xaawo or Baardheere to Kismaayo would make more sense. :? Gaalkacyo to Hobyo is the only one that makes sense in my opinion.
Sidoo kale ,Wasiir Cabdi Aadan Hoosoow waxa uu isla maanta saxiixay heshiis deeq ay dowladda Talyaanigu kaga qayb qaadanayso dhismaha wadooyinka isku xira gobolada. Waxaa uu shir laqaatay safiirka dowlada talyaaniga ee soomaaliya, madaxa haayadda horumarinta talyaaniga & bangiga horumarinta Afrika.
It looks like Italy will be partially funding this project if it ever materializes.

The reason it doesn’t make sense is it will likely never happen and politicians will pocket the money after few photo ops. The roads the claim to want to construct are controlled by alshabaab. Unless they want to award the contract to them, unlikely to Happen.

Luuq is my hometown. Call me ROM Al Ganaane. Luuq and Doolow are the safest towns in Gedo. Reer Axmed and Reer Xassan control their degmo fully. But I agree Baardhere to Kismaayo would make more strategic sense.

Barbarossa,

Luuq is the city of Lafo Xabashi and Barwaaqo:

"The British, Italians, and Ethiopians partitioned Greater Somalia into spheres of influence, cutting into the previous nomadic grazing system and Somali civilizational network that connected port cities with those of the interior. The Ethiopian Emperor Menelik's Somali expedition, consisting of an army of 15,000 men, made a deep push into the vicinity of Luuq in Somalia. However, his troops were soundly defeated by the Sultanate of the Geledi, with only 200 soldiers returning alive and at the same time his survived soldiers were heavily traumatized. The Ethiopians subsequently refrained from further expeditions into the interior of Somalia but continued to attack the people in the Ogaden by plundering the nomads of their livestock numbering in the hundreds of thousands."

Luuq is probably the most strategic place in Somalia mashallah. Completely surrounded by a river which makes it perfect for irrigation and mid scale farmijg. Reer Luuq should take advantage of this nimca Allah has blessed them with.

Looking at it from Google satellite, they have already started farming right on the river banks which is ideal. But it may interrupt with future town planning processes.

ReturnofMariixmaan, thanks for the trouble you took in acquainting me with the great town of Luuq. I know both Luuq and Baardheere are important Somali towns, blessed ( besides a long illustrious history) with abundance of natural resources iyo nimco ilaahey ku maneeystey.

Barbarossa,

Once the idiotic clans of Cagdheer and Ilkoyar finally put aside their trivial feud(s). We can make the Jubbaland project extremely viable and profitable for our ppl. Baardhere, Beledxawo, Luuq, Afmadow, Bu'ale, Goobweyn, Kismayo and Jamaame plus the Bajun Islands. We are blessed, manshallah.
