BREAKING NEWS 1.3bn Barrels of light crude oil found in Somaliland (Burco-Kiridh Oil Field)

Post by Futurist »

Alhamdulilah I have just received news that oil has been found in Somaliland.

Across 12 different oil fields between Burco and Kiridh - both in Togdheer region.

There is potentially even more oil in the Oodweyne block too.

Estimates are that Somaliland has 3 or 4x these reserves, which would make Somaliland a small oil producer in the league of Angola or Azerbajan of between 5bn and 10bn reserves

If Somaliland has oil, Puntland has oil too. Because we are part of the same geological formation. But Puntland has smaller oil fields. South Somalia probably has much more oil and gas too, especially along their long coastline. All of Somaliland, Puntland and Somalia will be eating good.

God is great :whew: :blessed:

Production capability of this one oil field alone is 70,000 barrels per day. Equal to Kenya's total production from its Turkana oil field and will bring in revenue of around $1.5bn to $2bn per year gross, before costs and the production sharing agreement.

God willing It will be exported initially via trucks going through Burco-Sheikh-Berbera. Long term there could be two oil pipelines: one from Burco-Kiridh Oil Field and another from Oodweyne oil field.

Looks like Puntland has just as much oil as Somaliland. No need to fight :stylin:

I've stopped believing in oil actually being drilled in Somaliland, but the fact that Genel bought the remaining 25% share from East Africa Resource Group suggests they're going all in.

The government should focus on offshore or close to the coast. It's cost effective and less problematic as the coast of somaliland is already empty. Less peaple is good for oil business.

Well the reason I said this is I don't want to see fking Habarjeclo geeljires claiming fake health hazards . During the exploration the HJ were the worst anti development group , they caused 2 years of delay. Some of them claimed that the oil exploration effected their goats , some claimed in xiniinyuhu dheeraden  . The wells should be drilled close to the coast were there is less HJs, less animals and more free Land for the government .

Horta I remember HJ became barrier those days. I don't think Habdraab is weak like Silanyo and this time will arrest any HJ that became barrier. You see what happen his own Hussein Abokor he even grabbed their land and give internally displaced refugees.
