This new "Somalia Success Story" under Pres Farmajo has a simple yet PROFOUND explanation

Post by Voltage »

And boy is there a "Somalia Success Story" narrative sweeping everywhere!

Feels nice to finally have my heritage described in a way that can make me feel pride for the first time instead of constant shame. :whew:

I realize some in the opposition may wish to debate these facts, so I kindly implore you to keep walking and take it up with entities like the UN, IMF, and World Bank who seem to be the ones spreading these "Somalia Success Story" rumors. :D

As for the rest; all y'all starting to feel a lil bit of pride for the first time and feel the Spirit starting to creep down your spine, say God sho is Good!

Amen!

Seriously though, I think there is a very clear and simple, but PROFOUND explanation for this success.

This explanation is something I think we should call The Farmajo Doctrine.

It is a very consistent running thread explaining all of Farmajo Presidency's disparate major actions (as well as minor).

It is a running thread even during his time as Prime Minister when Somalia's response to him shocked the world.

I don't even know if Farmajo himself has identified it or is even aware of this common thread linking all of his interaction with Somali governance.

There is a very clear and unmistakable "Farmajo Doctrine."

Before I explain what I mean by this, I wonder if any of you have 1.) noticed a link or common thread to this man and Somalia and/or 2.) have any guesses or ideas about what is part of or forms what I call "The Farmajo Doctrine."

A+ on everything except security. I do appreciate the moves towards centralization. The federalism project must be pruned back one state at a time.

Security is terrible and it stems from a lack of coherent strategy. The 4.5 must be exempted from the security sector with a focus on meritocracy not sentimental notions of tribal fairness.

Farmaajo's doctrine is built on the manifestation of two fundamental premises. Creating Xasilooni Siyasadeed (Political Stability) and Nidaam Sharciyeed (Working Legal system) in many ways he distinguished this administration as a totally different type of government than anything that was present in Somalia for the last 30 years where there was no stability among the vast amount of political actors. For example the previous admins have had multiple PM changes because of the lack of experience and shortsightedness of their interests. However since Farmaajo had experience as a PM and knew what type of system he was dealing with he ensured that sort of instability could not distract his government from the goals he had. Which has worked perfectly with the appointment of HAK.

In many ways the world has acknowledged the change this government has brought in terms of governances and competency. The financial and military reforms have been robust and tangible which is why the IMF and World Bank have touted Somalia as the quickest government to get this far into the debt relief process. Our international partners are confident and can rely on a singular approach from the heads of state in terms of decisions and action plans. Our allies know we won't turn back on our promises and will remain steadfast in our support which has been the case in our actions.

For the first time in many decades Ethiopia has stopped meddling in our affairs and have not had contact with the various FMS leaders in which they used to undermine Somalia with. This in itself was brought about by great diplomatic efforts as well as the change in leadership of that nation as well. The only issue we've had with foreign countries at this time are primarily with the UAE and Kenya and even they have been outmaneuvered masterfully in diplomacy to the point in which their governments seem like novices compared to Nabad iyo Nolal. With the ICJ case being decided in June and the debt relief nearly concluded there is a lot of momentum our country has now that has not been seen for 30 years. This tweet exemplifies the sort of change that has been made quite well.

Traffic control, Farmaajo is bringing zebra crossings, stop lights, give ways, roundabouts, inter-sections and road management to the Somali politics. He is and always was a great manager and I think management was lacking in Somalia when it comes to governance. And to be honest, governance is just a fancy word for political management.

I think we need him to be our Paul Kagame. Let him lead for at least 15 years. When a country has fallen, it needs one visionary leader to rule for a quite good time.
