Somaliland: Attempted Assassination on Defense 'Minister'

Word has reached me that there was an assassination attempt on the only Ciise 'minister' in the recognition-seeking, secessionist-minded, breakaway region in the north of erstwhile Somalia Republic.

His name is Abdiqani Mohamoud Atteye. There are contested villages between Ciise, Gadabursi and Isaacs and, residents in these six villages, who are overwhelmingly Ciise, are voicing their displeasure of being marginalized throughout the years. Perhaps this discourse precipitated the attempted assassination of this person as many clans claim these strategically located villages.

Don't exaggerate things. There are many Ciise left in northern Somalia.

What I don't understand is the likes of General Zakaria (head of the armed forces) and Colonel Mohamed Djama's (head of the Republican Guards), both are from northern Somalia, ambivalence to this matter. Leaving their own close kin to be tossed around like a rag doll. I wonder why they don't have feelings for their towns and people.

All General Zakaria has to do is take couple of thousands well armed men and march down to Borame and Hargays, like General Sherman of the Union army, who decimated confederate troops and burned down Atlanta to the ground during America's civil war. General, burn down every little town and resistance on your path. I would have done the same thing as Sherman.

I've never understood why the iidoors are against Cisse of somaliland.
The Cisse are probably the only northern clan that wasn't actively fighting the iidoor insurgents.

I can sum it up with one word, envy. Envious of Ciise leading an internationally recognized country. Envious of the good relationship between the two recognized capitals, Djibouti and Mogadishu.

yonis muse are second class citizens in Djibouti. every one of them is living in exile or abused by the fat dictator IOG . the biggest enemies of ciise in western somaliland are not the Isaaqs but gadabuursi. in fact we favor ciise over gadabuursi because we dont want gadabuursi to have total ownership of awdal. we gave ciise unrestricted permission for citizenship registration. it's in our best interest to increase the population of ciise in awdal upto 30% . but the gadabuursi does not want this . know your rivals .
