On paper we've got this in the bag.
However, the ICJ has very little to do with justice....its all about serving geopolitical interests.

I’m afraid the hypocrisy of the so called International Community will show, but it’s always good to keep a positive mindset. No matter what, good on the last regime for taking it to court, and this regime for keeping it there.
What makes me hopeful was seeing how adamant, desperate Kenya was for settling this out of court.

Frustration isn't a compelling reason to hope success for Kenya. Cite 2-3 compelling reasons.Khalid Ali wrote: Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:35 am I hope Kenya wins this will frustrate all hopes for walanweyn

What happened to Abdulqawi? Did his term end as the Chief Justice? I heard the new one is an AmericanPhinks wrote: Wed Mar 03, 2021 7:07 am We got this, it's clear to anyone that Kenya is attempting to nab territory rightfully belonging to Somalia, nonetheless hope for the best prepare for the worst.

Yeah, his term ended, but I wouldn't necessarily say this is a bad thing. If he was still serving his term, Kenya upon losing the case would cite the ICJ not being impartial to both parties as reason for further dragging the matter out. In fact I'm pretty sure they tried that talking point in 2019, I consider it a blessing in disguise.ReturnOfMariixmaan wrote: Wed Mar 03, 2021 2:43 pmWhat happened to Abdulqawi? I know I remember. But like Original Dervish said: ICJ serves global interests. I’m still a little pessimistic. No global power wants Somalia back as a whole country again. It’s too threatening to numerous multinationals and nations imo.Phinks wrote: Thu Mar 04, 2021 1:07 amYeah, his term ended, but I wouldn't necessarily say this is a bad thing.
