No. Marehan has 14 MP seats and 3 Senate seats. Since Abdullahi Yusuf govt, Marehan divided their seats with 4 MP seats and 1 Senate seat for Marehan in central Somalia and 10 MP seats and 2 Senate seats for Marehan in Gedo (including the Senate seats when they started).

So 10 of the seats in Garbahaareey are Marehan. 6 belong to other clans like Gasaargude, Garre, etc.

Also elections happening in Garbahaareey are part of September Agreement, Baidoa Technical Points, etc.

There is really no argument about how it is supposed to happen. Ahmed Madoobe has chosen not to honor the agreement yet which is what the threat of sanctions is about for people holding up the process.

For people making comparisons to Beled-Weyne, there is no argument since Beled-Weyne was never in any of the agreements but Garbahaareey was specifically addressed.

Also reer Hiiraan signed on to Hirshabelle and were even perfectly fine recognizing the validity of the State serving as President. Hirshabelle Presidents have been based in Beled-Weyne as well

Reer Gedo have NEVER signed on to or recognized the existence of such a thing called Jubbaland as it exists or the authority of Ahmed Madoobe. No such thing called Jubbaland President named Ahmed Madoobe has ever even been able to visit Garbahaareey.

Beled-Weyne was a "political" problem that was solved quickly.

Garbahaareey is a "legitimacy" problem that cannot be solved which is why it was "structurally" addressed during all the agreements.

What Ahmed Madoobe is doing is called a "political show" essentially airing his grievance about the agreements and about what the "optics" of the Garbahaareey elections will say about his lack of legitimacy compared to the other FMS Presidents.

He will be the only FMS President not able to even step foot in let alone control the process in 1 of the 2 locations in the Federal State he claims to preside over.

But no mistake, Garbahaareey elections will happen and Ahmed Madoobe will be shown to be the fake "FMS" leader he is.

Thank you for the information. In all honesty Jubbaland's internal politics is a shit-storm. Gedo is politically, socially and militarily autonomous from the rest of "Jubbaland." Middle Jubba and some areas in Lower Jubba are under the authority of Al Shabab. Kismayo district and its surroundings are currently under the Kenyan-backed Raskamboni Brigade control under Ahmed Madoobe's leadership.

what has hirshabelle got to do with the federal politics? as long there is federalism Hiiraan will have the upper hand bc it means to weaken the central authority and Jowhar is part of Mogadishu tribally and socially(waa dad meesha kuleh beero iyo kaluumeysi oo xamar ku noqda) wich is the reason why Farmaajo transferred both the presidency and the capital to it because of its proximity to the capital but he failed as you can see now because the political and economical weight of Hirshabelle is in Hiiraan.
