This NATO RUSSIA war can work in Somalia's favour.
As the oil price steadily rises, as much as $300, Somali offshore reserves will come into play.

The average Somali is unlikely to benefit from oil production. Production could even prove to be a curse, making things worse than they're today (South Sudan?). The average people of other big producers (i.e. Nigeria) aren't faring better. Oil production won't solve the underlying problems of Somalis. Somalia has enough natural resources (agriculture, marine, livestock, etc) that if taken advantage, could make the country self-sufficient and even exporter. Finally, if production were to start, a minimal benefit might be seen at least a decade from today, so there's a need to temper down expectations & hopes.original dervish wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 4:58 am This NATO RUSSIA war can work in Somalia's favour.

Failed state can’t drill for oil and if it allows foreign companies to drill they will be taken advantage of.paperino wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 6:19 pmThe average Somali is unlikely to benefit from oil production. Also how can a nation facing drought/famine every 2/3 years have an export industry in agriculture?

ESG (Environmental social governance scores is the first thing investors look at. So it’s very tough to raise money for oil and gas exploration.TarTar wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 11:14 pm niggs bin talking about replacing oil for decades. can't wait for this to finally happen. make earth green again![]()
