They say he is on a state/working visit while the TDF is closing on Dessie, Amhara region? Hmmm, there is more to it than meets the eye.

Maybe to ask for armaments? Ask for Algeria to mediate with Egypt? Etc. ?

Abiy is in a desperation mode. You don't make a state visit to a foreign country when your enemy is advancing toward your capital. TDF is headed to Dessie, a strategic city. After Dessie, which conects Bahir Dar, Amhara and Mekelle, Tigray regions, Kombulcha is next, which is only 300KM from Addis.

Almost all Ethiopian troops in Weldiya gave up and ran or killed :stylin:

TDF is doing their 'Harimaddee' in Weldiya tonight.

No more federal troops helping Afars to persecute nomads in western Sitti. Things are about to get interesting for Beesha Mareyta. One thing is for sure, Ciise will never kill pregnant women, elderly or kids. Any Afar man of fighting age is fair game, though.

Asking for armament at this late stage in the 'game?' I think the TDF won't stop until they reach Addis Ababa. They got the green light from the West.

You never know. His army is in shambles. There are stories of a lot of soldiers fleeing In disarray. The amhara militias are standing their ground, refusing to retreat, all they've requested from the ENDF is ammunition and logistics. No clear answer as to whether or not they'll be given that.
Its also been reported that Egypt is very much involved and if they are, perhaps some superpowers are too, giving intelligence to TPLF on ENDF troop movements, some food, fuel, arms, etc.
Eritreans are watching closely too. I doubt they'll watch TPLF get too close to winning. TPLF is using human waves of young tigrayan children btw bro. Imagine, little kids not old enough to be in high school fighting. Abiys army is barely better, they're forcefully conscripting teenagers too.

If TPLF comes to Addis, it'll be in coordination with OLA. It's too hostile of a territory to go it alone. Remember in the last days of mengistu, the TPLF in it's prime, still needed allies from among amhara, Oromo, and of course their elderly more battle hardened Eritrean allies, to fully capture and rule from the capital city.

Then they may call for referendums once and for all.... Or Ethiopia will become a loosely confederated group of states all with their own armies and governments ...time shall tell. This time around, TPLF has no allies, it'd be unable to hold onto power, so they will have to treat OLA as equals or even as the senior partners. Quiet as kept but many Oromo soldiers and militia are defecting to OLA. OLA is getting quite strong.

In regards to the afar ciise conflict, it's beyond sad when two Muslim groups fight. Just make a new state and split it. Half afar half ciise with both languages being the administrative languages. If you can share Djibouti you can share that land too.
