1. Saadaq John was recently weded to Djibouti dictator Ismail Omar Geelle's daughter.
2. Somalia President Hassan Sheikh and Muse Bihi of Somaliland were guests of honor.
3. Subsequently war started in Somaliland where Muse Bihi was removed from Las Anod and the entire eastern boundary of Somaliland by Dhulbahante loyalists of SSC.
4. Geelle has been accused of supporting Muuse and there have been rumours he is sending weapons to Muse Bihi through the Djibouti border with Somaliland.
5. Prof Mohamed Haji Ingiriis now says that "Saadaq John has been trafficking arms through Djibouti port destined to 'Somalia' by land which have been sold to 'all kinds of actors' with some of the trafficked arms 'confirmed' to have been sold to Al Shabaab."

Ismail Omar Geelle is awfully past retirement.

This whole conspiracy theory that Djibouti is supporting somaliland is none sense. Even if it does , so what ? You are correct he did not say the arms were trafficked by "land." After listening back, it is apparent I took his general statement of "conduit" to assume "by way of land." He did not specify, as you had pointed out, "how" this was achieved whether by land, air, or sea. However, this assumption by me is consequentially immaterial as the salient importance is the fact Djibouti Port is in fact the central conduit.

Regarding the second part with respect to Somaliland, I did not attribute anything to Mr. Ingiriis. If you notice I said "funny sequence of events" as part of a broader contextualization. I did not even state that Djibouti was indeed supplying Muuse's war against Las Anod. Rather I pointed out the nature of widely held belief even designating them 'rumors.' That they are existing rumors or even that Muse is engaged in a war against Las Anod are not in themselves relevant, but even so, the fact the rumours identify Djibouti and Ismail Omar Geelle as the source supplying arms to Muuse is incredibly relevant to the circumstance of Geelle's 'son-in-law' Saadaq John being confirmed to be "trafficking arms" through Djibouti port destined for Somalia. Djibouti is a single party autocratic State where Geelle singularly wields all authority wherein his son-in-law is the man confirmed to be the entity using Djibouti port as a conduit for the illicit arms being trafficked to Somalia through that Djibouti conduit. This sets of points are holistically beyond a shadow of doubt 'relevant' to this story. Clearly there is 'smoke.' Now it remains to be seen if there is 'fire.' Or in other words whether the arms being used against the innocent civilian population of Las Anod are the same arms being used by Shabaab against the innocent civilian population of the rest of Somalia.
