Ahlu Sunnah was 'spiritual;" nomads wanting to freely practice without compulsion.
Again it is not clans per se.
Ahlu Sunnah worked in Western border areas. Macawiisleey worked in the Hiiraan.
Sir, something about the lower coastal plains must be identified as the impediment to overcome and effectively use against extremism.
In my opinion, I think it has something to do with resistance to negative acculturation or 'urban degeneracy' from Mogadishu.
Think isbaaro/checkpoints, the NGO/qandaraas-industrial complex, the property inflation, essentially the whole quick money making scams that Mogadishu's outlying perimeter is resisting.
There is a nexus here from Xarardheere to just north of Mogadishu where the people may in fact not have rised up yet because they might just actually find themselves "repelled" by your associations with the "30 jir 30 millions" of Benadir area.

I have not switched to Dalxoreeye Jaalle HSM.
I have simply suspended disagreement following the recommendations of President Farmaajo to put aside partisanship and support the men and women in uniform in all their struggle to establish order and security in Somalia. I am merely honoring Dalxoreeye Jaalle HSM as the commander in chief of those noble guardians of the realm.

The crazy, and equally as hilarious thing is your analogy accurately 100% describes this scenario with regard to Gubbet/Farmaajo.
Barabossa has the time come for Farmaajo to trim the mustache, maintain at least a 2 day shave, and invest in a Khamis as a Skinny Grand Ayatollah?

I heard the reason Hassan Sheikh went to Dhusamareeb was to spoil the halganka Sool and just to disappear so that he won't be asked why not support people fighting unity and integrity of Somalia, but now SSC are winners and freed their region
triangle.
