The political and military involvement of neighbouring and regional powers have only exacerbated instability and chaos within Somalia. It has always been my belief that Somalia's myriad problems cannot be resolved without full US engagement.

across the world, particularly in resource rich Africa.
The US and Europe have belatedly acknowledged the China, and increasingly Russian , threat to Western interests in Africa. Together the US and EU have launched their own investment plan for Africa. It won't have the huge economic resources of China's BRI, but will possess the unmatched military might and assets of AFRICOM.
Somalia desperately needs US involvement in its internal affairs. So far we have had Kenyan, Ethiopian, Ugandan, Burundi, UAE, Qatar, Saudi, Iranian, Djiboutienne , Turkish etc involvement which have all led to minimal success and in some cases outright failure.
The US/ Somali Mou is definitely a gamechanger for the benighted country. It offers a way out of thirty years of failed state status, and is a glimer of hope for millions of people whom endure some of the worst living conditions on Earth.
I am on record denouncing the multiple failings of HSM. However, the HSM administration must be supported and Commended for this US/Somalia Mou, especially in the light of the illegal and provocative Ethiopia/ iidoor Mou. I use the Ethiopia/iidoor Mou because that's what it is......an agreement between Ethiopia and iidoor. SLceased to exist after Goojacadde. This illegal agreement has been opposed by every non iidoor clan in northern Somalia, including many iidoors themselves.
