What do you think of Hip-Hop culture?

They call it culture, I don't know why. But does it have any deep rooting in any other culture, was it derived from an age old tradition and is tranformed into the sorry situation it is today or is it simply the inane, empty rhetorics, coupled with the crass dersscode, glorifying violence and degrading women?

honestly, hiphop is wonderful.....i agree most of it has negative aspects to it but so dose rock....i'm sorry for not liking the song called "STACYS MOM HAS GOT IT GOING ON".....most music comes from what areas u grew up with and that song won't suit the area i was from...nobody in my area was named stacy Wink

Rap music was cutural revolution phenomenon initially now itÃ¢Â€Â™s multi million dollars industry. This what is wrong Hip Hop these days. You cant blame them rapping about bling bling and fat booty hoe in the hood. That is public demand and they deliver. I would do the same.

Even though I dont like Hip Hop culture (have you seen how some wear their trousers? almost to their ankles and dragging their feets in the streets like idiots) but I quite like some Rap artists.
