It's not only him, there is another one, (the other guy speak better somali)
Both of them are muslims, one is from San Diego the other one is from Swans in La, this guy bashir had a somali friend in LA, anyways he heard about the somali population in SD in the mid-90's....he came to SD went to the local masjid and asked for help.

A somali family kindly took him in and raised him as thier own, he mixed in with the local crowd and learned somali, he knows how to read and write in somali,

although at first the somali people gave him a hard time. some went as far as calling an informer and a FBI, he didnt like that, you can see how he answered in the video about when they asked him, what he though about somali people. Laughing
