Somalilanders ONLY: Tips on Visiting Somaliland
I may be leaving to Somaliland in the next 20 days. I wanted to know a few things about visiting Somaliland:
1. Do I need a visa ? Or does my Somalinimo count for something i.e. no VISA ? If not, were can one get a visa ?
2. Where does the Somaliland shilling operate ? If so, any good places to get the best rate of exchange ? Does the Somali shilling still operate in certain areas ?
3. What is the best qabiil to claim incase you get questioned ?
4. Any penalties if you mispeak and refer to the place as Somalia ?
Thanks

I say get ready for an extreemly unpleasant WLC....Hargeysa style
Getting through customs is a very weird and entertaining ordeal. Be prepared to answer the question: Qolama tahay? at least a couple of times!. Mostly people can tell where abouts you are from by your accent. You are then most likely to be refered to as " reer xamar"
You can' t refer to the place as "Somalia". That' s a huge no-no!. I have done it once and I got into a huge fall out which almost got me into major trouble
