my mum is a non practising secular liberal jew. my dad is somali and practicing muslim.

Can't say I knew Marduuf very well, but if AbdiWahab says they're one and the same, then they're friggin hell one and the same.

Why thank you ever so much kind sir, I think equally highly of you aswell, I've never encountered a Somali of Jewish descent- way to go comrade! I'm also from a mixed race background: Father is Somali & mother is Yemeni.
