Why Girls Will Be Girls
In a controversial new book, this psychiatrist argues that differences between men and women start with their brains.
The Prophet (saw) didn't chose political correctness over neurobiological facts.
The Prophet (saw) was long criticized for making statements that appeared, in today's world, to appear sexist & discriminatory.
People have tried to take advantage of some statements by the Prophet, such as these:
The Prophet said, "Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?" The women said, "Yes." He said, "This is because of the deficiency of a woman's mind."
“Those who entrust their affairs to a woman will never know prosperity.”
However, a clinical neuropsychiatrist who was/is also a feminist has come to acknowledge, and even embrace those differences to help her patients lead better a quality of lives.
Despite pressure from her peers, she has written an unpopular book, citing some neurological research evidences, that men & women, although equal, operate in different ways and are somewhat differently optimized. She believes women can lead a better quality of life by paying more attention to how they are optimized.
Some of her statements pertain directly to how hormones, during particularly emotionally charged/stressful conditions, can cause her to behave somewhat different than men:
"For example, different levels of estrogen, cortisol and dopamine, she says, can cause a female to be more stressed by emotional conflict than her male counterpart. A few unpaid bills can set off a cascade of hormones in a woman that can catapult her into a fear of impending catastrophe, a reaction triggered in men only by physical danger. Women have 11 percent more neurons in the area of the brain devoted to emotions and memory. Because they have more "mirror neurons" they are also better at observing emotions in others, she says."
"I know it's not politically correct to say this," she says, "and I've been torn for years between my politics and what science is telling us. But I believe that women actually perceive the world differently than men. If women attend to those differences, they can make better decisions about how to manage their lives."
..............
With regard to Prophet Muhammad's statements:
3. Nor does he speak of (his own) desire.
4. It is only an Inspiration that is inspired.
With regard to Allah's specialization of roles of males/females:
"And wish not for the things in which Allâh has made some of you to excel others. For men there is reward for what they have earned, (and likewise) for women there is reward for what they have earned, and ask Allâh of His Bounty. Surely, Allâh is Ever AllÂKnower of everything."

Political correctness dictates that we assume that it is attributed to Nurture. That is, women were brought up to believe that. See in that article:
Books like this "are bad for my blood pressure," she says. Dr. Nancy C. Andreasen, a psychiatrist and neuroimaging expert at the University of Iowa's medical school, says nurture plays such a huge role in human behavior that focusing on biology is next to meaningless.
Also, if those are such universal truths, why do people accuse the Prophet (saw) of things like sexism, discrimination etc.
And with the issue of female testimony being 1/2 of a man's in Islamic court, or a woman becoming a nation's leader not prospering, would indicate a court system based on Islamic Sharia would be so advanced that it takes into consideration neurobiological/physical considerations in man/woman that were WAY ahead of its time.
This points to divine origins of Islam.

The basic fact is: Yes Male & Female-- react differently on every level. They were naturally made to be more unlike than alike. The question here--is one better than the other? Well that is a general broad question.Specifity is paramount here.It depends on situation & circumstances.True Men--are better in some things than Women are, Its also True Women are better in some things than Men. The Question is --is one sex superior to another? No--is the simple answer. Because to answer --YES---implies--the Better sex becomes--flawless--Perfection.In which case---it is a ridiculous concept--since the very definition of a human-being is to be an imperfect being.Therefore---we should conclude that--Women & Men-- are equal creation of God--in which --each needs to co-exist to become a perfect entity. In which each one has good qualities & bad qualities & that where one excels in something the other is poor in perfomance.
The very confusion that arises is--one sex---tends to emphasize its proficient good qualities & thus --deduces the myth that----His' sex is the better one! Get my drift?

Because he was a sexist. On top of that he was a serial fornicator. How many wives did he have? How many concubines? Who could keep count?
"And with the issue of female testimony being 1/2 of a man's in Islamic court, or a woman becoming a nation's leader not prospering, would indicate a court system based on Islamic Sharia would be so advanced that it takes into consideration neurobiological/physical considerations in man/woman that were WAY ahead of its time. The only area where Islam was ahead of its time was in the importance of cleanliness and the fairer treatement of women. Of course everything is relative. Relative to the time, he Islam was progressive. The problem with Islam is it is unable to change with the times. It is assumed by Muslims that the human condition is unchanging - flawed assumption.
Additionally, there is no reason was a womens testimony should be measured. Some women will be unreliable, some men will be lying. Some women will be excellent in their observations, some men will be Khat addled. Stupid rule. One of many stupid rules in the Qur'an.
As for women leaders, Margaret Thatcher was a women, she did fine. Condi Rice is a women, she kicks ass. Ã used to work for a woman and she was an outstanding leader.
The funniest part of your post is the attribution of Shari'a to neurological-biological traits. These are traits that any focking mindless moron on the street can observe. Now they are tauted as some special evidence of divine inspiration.
Good grief. Face it kid, the Qur'an is a bunch of nonsense, most of it plagerized, by some guy with too much time on his hands looking for an angle to get more chicks.
