Sorry, I know this is supposed to be a letter about the article and all that, but is everybody now diagnosed with "high-functioning" something? Isn't that just the same as saying I'm NORMAL? I could call myself a high-functioning procrastinator, clutterer, perfectionist, recovered addict, dyslexic, egotist, etc., but why not just say I function pretty well despite a lot of quirks and some emotional RADAMIIR? Doesn't exactly trip off the tongue, but at least it's shorter!
What annoys me most about "10,000 STARS" letter is the subtle way he/she slips in the word "disabled." If one is high-functioning, one can't credibly call onesself disabled, IMHO. Let's leave disabled to all us REAL cripples, please.
And is it a symptom of Asberger's to use the tired acronym "IMHO" twice in the same letter? It is, IMHO, but I'm a RADAMIIR. And anyway, I used it 3 times.
ICK ! MY HEAD'S UP MY OWN RADAMIIR'S !
