Ramadan Kariim

Every time I get alerted by email to have a peek at Somalinet, it is the same old repetetive choking one another kind of discussions. Since I have been responding occassionally to posts lately, I decided to ask you all to chill and think about the impending Ramadan. It is a time to show a courage for forgiveness and goodwill to all humans.
First let us all cease about this rubbish talk about Somali politics and wish our brothers and sisters in all corners of Somalia a peaceful Ramadan.
Secondly, what are you going to do this Ramadan?
For me, this is the first Ramadan with family and I'm ready and looking forward to Somali Ramadan meals cooked by the experts. My 3 years in Sydney, friends always offered me to have Ramadan dinner with their families, and I appreciated it. Compare that to a single man preparing his own meals. That is why I already invited a couple of guys who are studying, or working away from home to come and experience with us Somali Ramadan. Enjoy your Ramadan but till then, do a little bit of self-reflection and ask yourself, why you are going to fast. Cafis dhammaan.
Share your Ramadan story.

Ramadaan Kariim To You Too Brotha!!
Ramadaan is my favorite time of the year, specailly during afur time, when all the people get together and just carry on a decent conversation, plus you'll see all these people, you havent seen in a minute at the masjid or something, I use to invite couple of young guys who converted to Islam to break fast with us while back, those were the good days, also I think masjids provide food for people who are less fortunet!
I dont know about other cities but In San Diego, each somali family in my nieghborhood was assign to cook food for the local Masjid each day, it turned out pretty well, cus they were trying to out beat each other!
plus my first memory as a kid, was during ramadaan, my dad and his buddies were reciting something simliar "yaracam yarcam yaa ramadaan' not correct but similar to that!

Salaam all
Foxxy as UncleBin mentioned, Ramadan is a month away, and starts probaby on the 24th of September.
My dear friends asking for forgiveness is a common courtesy in Islamic teachings. This does not mean that I'm accusing anyone did anything wrong here. It is just I wanted to cover for unintentional mistakes as well. There is nothing to lose with self cleansing.
As for me personally anything I have ever said on these forums;
‘How perfect You are O Allaah, and I praise You. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.’
For more duas or supplications, please visit the link below. It covers from A to Z;
