THE POPE IN EPHESUS

Post by Galol »

Religions are truly dumb things and it fits they are represented by truly dumb people.

Take the Pope. This guy is revered, almost worshipped by millions of devout Catholics around the World. But before the Somali dumbos here think that all Cathos are followers of the Pope remember that Castro is supposed to be a Catholic and that the biggest Marxist parties in Europe and latin America are almost all in `Catholic' countries like Italy, Portugal and Argentina. Funny how Marxism never took a foothold in Anglo-Saxon Northern Europe and its American off-shoot. But that is another story.

Ephesus is where many Catholics believe to be the place where the Virgin Mary died. Now why a teenage Jewish kid will travel all the way from from Bethlehem or wherever to Turkey is unclear. But there the current Pope went and held Mass. He asked the Virgin Mary to bring peace to the Middle East and the World today.

How can a little girl who had a boy who got himself killed 2000 years ago after making trouble for the local bigwigs can inform Iraqi Sunni insurgents or Isreali settlers or the Mehdi Army to lay dowm their arms and make peace? Why do religious people talk crap like that?

The Virgin Mary, although a pious and devout human being, is powerless. The Pope should ask God for help.

Jesus' whole message was for people to worship God.

116. And (remember) when Allâh will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allâh?' " He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my innerself though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the AllKnower of all that is hidden and unseen.

117. "Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allâh) did command me to say: 'Worship Allâh, my Lord and your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a Witness to all things. (This is a great admonition and warning to the Christians of the whole world).

118. "If You punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, verily You, only You are the AllMighty, the AllWise[]."

119. Allâh will say: "This is a Day on which the truthful will profit from their truth: theirs are Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise) - they shall abide therein forever. Allâh is pleased with them and they with Him. That is the great success (Paradise).

120. To Allâh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is therein, and He is Able to do all things.

GB

Jesus he was a revolutionary; the Che Guevara of his time. His first battle was against the `money lenders' ie Banks of his time. It will help you learn if you read history as well as religion.

Galol,

Yeah, I think he battled the moneylenders because of the interest, right?

Jesus: A True Soldier of Allah.

I used to go to a Catholic school as a kid, and every Friday we would go to 'Temple' and watch some Bible movies.

I always liked those movies.

Gedo_Boy,

Did you watch these cartoons with a little boy and girl who would witness all the stories in the Old Testament? I quite liked those, though I was quite the skeptic even then Very Happy

Galol,

When I was a kid we had this game. On the way to/from school, we would avoid stepping on all the cracks in the sidewalk (pavement to you, I think). Otherwise, "Step on a crack, break your mother's back." I can't help but wonder if religious people just never grow out of those irrational associations.
