FORGET ABDULLAHI YUSUF..THINK SOMALIA
A/Yusuf is a controversial figure and very unlikely hero. Afterall the man made his name by trying a coup, failing and instead of standing up and getting counted, doing a Ben Jonson all the way to Ethiopia letting his comrades and fellow conspirators to face the music. The music in this case, came in the shape of the Kalash singing and courageous men falling.
He then led the SSDF with an iron fist which mainly hit his men most notably taking from the nation one of its best sons, Abdirahman Aideed Dhabdhable. No one knows whether this great Idealist was killed on Yusuf's orders but the SSDF smelt something rotten from then on. His men then joined with enthusiasm Siyad Barre's great Darood call to defeat the SNM and then the whole of the Isaq nation.
So you will forgive me if I am not a great admirer of Mr. Yusuf. But I am a supporter of what he represents today: A secular, reasonable, rational, moderate version of the Somali State.
So forget Yusuf and the unknown and so far erratic Geddi and support the notion; the notion of secular Somalia which at the moment A/yusuf represents whether we like him or not.
Of course I am a Somalilander so I am only talking to neighbouring nation here.

Cabdilaahi Yuusuf should definitely be your hero. Cabdilaahi Yuusuf was the man who was fighting against the Siyaad Barre government that you are always complaining about, you Isaaq lot.
When he was in the bush fighting you were singing:
Haddaan Diini magantiisa nahay ama Mareexaanba
Nama midab gumaystee xaquu noo mitiriyaaye
If all Somalis agree that Siyaad Barre was a bad man -- and it appears to be the consensus -- then Cabdilaahi Yusuf, it is reasonable to adduce, is a hero of Somalia.

Galol,
You have caugth the "Denial of History" cyber fever. It was originally confined to the young uns but now it seems the disease is very infectious. Those who should know better are automatically gainsaying whatever bit of information that will bring their tribe into disrepute. Even when the facts are well-established. You can disown and repudiate that fragment of Gabay but it is yours forever. The Habar Awal poet Dhirbaaxo Jin was responsible for this. I dont know what motivated him into that poem.
Hatred and resentment of Majeerteen?
Money and considerations dangled by Siyaad?
Thoughtlessness and lack of foresight?
who knows.

If This fella said this then he was clearly not representing any clan but his own interests. Actually I never rated the man as a poet: He was more notorious and childish than insightful and telling. I cannot stand his daft `rebuttal' to the Mijertein SSDF poet.
But Isaq is the biggest clan in Somalia according to the UN stats. So of course we will have some idiots.

Old man what happen to your devotion of Somalinimo , Afbiijo ain't noything but an old dirt traitor ,even the attempted coup on 9 April 1978 the ring leader was Mohamud Irro, as You said while the rest of his gruop paid ultimate their lives on 26 October 1978, Afbiijo fled to defect his enemies and Mengistu handed SSF and later renamed SSDF and was used as counter attack and to hunt down WSLF , even most at the times Ethiopian army was using the SSDF name to launch incursions in Somali soil with this stooge .
. don't You dare losing any decency for this ugly creature
What iss the big deal about Dhirbaaxo Jin answering Khaliif Sheekh the Dhabayaco in that fashion. When Khaliif's desperate feigned somalinimo failed to incite Somalis against Afweyne, when the Majeerteen betrayal of Somalis in the middle of the 1977 failed , he desperately then changed his poetic lines to that of Daaroodism.
Before he coaxed Somalis to save the nation and overthrow what he called Mareexaan government as though him a Majeerteen and Mareexaan are 2 different clans to somalis
,
When all Hawiye , Daarood and Isaaq poet slammed the Majeerteen croc tears and pointed to their obvious betrayal of Somalis by attempting to overthrow the government in the middle of a war , the Majeerteen changed his card and tried to drive a wedge between his opponents and Afweyne who was in power by claiming that he was Daarood and Afweyne was his cousin and accuse both the Hawiye of siding with a Daarood against another Daarood as though the somali government was a Daarood created entity, he said:
Intaad Diini magantii taheee daba mushaaxayso.
Daaroodkan moolka ah intaad midun ku biirayso.
Nacasyow maqiiqani maxaa adiga kuu meel ah.
Dhirbaaxo Jin never joined any Daarood group and he merely mentioned that Somalinimo were more sacred then who and what tribe the president belong to, so the desperate Majeerteen used this line to compel Dhirbaaxo Jin and others to catsigate the Mareexaan and therefor score a cheap point with his line of argument which was ridiculous. In classical hard hitting objectivity Dhirbaaxo Jin answered those clear divisive lines as this:
Micne dawladeed iyo qabiil kala mid weeyaane
Haddaan Diini magantiisa nahay ama Mariixaanba
Nama midab-gumeystee xaquu noo Mitiriyaaye
Waxan nahay mataaniyo dad aan kala maqnaanayne
Mid uunbaa wax maamuli lahaa labada meeloode
Haddaanse mawd i helin taasi waa mehered ii taalle
You can't beging and say lets overthrow Afweyne and incite the Isaaq and Hawiye and then when been humiliated and put in the spot by all somali clans change course and say " oh we are all Daarood and Bare is my cousin" so if he was, why were you coaxing us Isaaq and Hawiye to overthrow him??
Cheap desperate Daarood double talk.
Despite Dhirbaaxo Jin and Dheeg's direct humiliation of Majeerteen and Cabdule Raage's equating both Majeerteen and Mareexaan to 2 jealous women wed by a single man. The Majeerteen themselves came hard and tough gainst their own kin.
Known well what both Isaaq poets said about his clan the Majeerteen Cali Cilmi Afyare the best of all Majeerteen poets for the last 70 years said defending the Isaaq against his own by saying:
Gobannimo Isaaq muujiyoo, waa markab adage
Maandeeq raggii dhaliyey iyo, miiddu waayaga e
Muxubbiga kalgacalkaan u qabo, waa mid igu dheere
Ingiriiska nimankii miraye, moodharrada saaray
Mufsadka iyo Gaalada raggii, mariyey gaalleefta
Majnuun kuma sifeyseen haddaan, maanku kaa tegine.
So Candhoole kunt again nothing is black and white as you loved to see the world,

Sow Cawr you are Umo Cabdo anywhere anytime, be it on me or under me
