Warlords back to challenge TFG

Quote: Qanyare Afrah
"I have 1,500 militiamen under my control," Afrah told The Associated Press on Sunday from the home he returned to on Friday, a compound stocked with weapons including 12 armored vehicles mounted with double-barreled anti-aircraft guns. "And why not? An angry man is an angry man. We need to protect ourselves.".......

Prime Minister Mohamed Ali Gedi said Saturday he expected to disarm Mogadishu within three weeks. Afrah called that wishful thinking.

"From Somaliland to Kismayo, the guns are everywhere," Afrah said. "But the word of one man with one microphone cannot solve this."

A Day AFter Bombing
Somalia: Businessman killed in public in Mogadishu
1 Jan 1, 2007, 03:34

MOGADISHU, Somalia Jan 1 (Garowe Online) - A Somali businessman was shot to death at a crowded Mogadishu restaurant Monday morning, only a day after a mysterious bomb explosion near a hotel killed 2 civilians.

The dead victim, Nur Nafte, was eating breakfast at Baar SanÂ’a restaurant when unknown gunmen opened fire, killing him and seriously wounding a bystander, witnesses reported.

The gunmen escaped before authorities could capture them. Sources said the killing is believed to be linked to previous clan-related murders in Mogadishu.

Mogadishu has been under the control of SomaliaÂ’s interim government forces, backed militarily by Ethiopian troops, since Islamic Courts militia vacated the city last week.

Qanyare has become a warlord who's views are in line with the security and freedom of Hawiye people.

It doesn't matter the personal gain of him...all that matters is that his views are in line with the general security of Hawiye people in Mogadishu.

He has proven to be different than the other warlords like Qeybdiid, M/x Dheere etc...therefor he should be treated slightly better than those treacherous warlords.

Big up to Qanyare for the moment being Laughing

Disarmament is out of question Exclamation

All Somali clans should keep their arms to protect themselves till a legitimate government for the people aND by the people arises which has widespread support from Somali citizens and which is capable of proteciting its citizens without the help of foreign actors, especially not our arch-enemy Exclamation

Why do Hawiye folks act or think as though this government(or any gov. in the past 16 years..) is out there to get them????

The government is headed by a Hawiye man, many key members are Hawiye..just the president is Darod...whats with this paranoia??
Or is it maybe that Hawiye dont want any form of government and they prefer the chaos, the looting, the killing??isnt haiwye dying too(actually dying more than any other clan)?? isnt this "supposedly" their city(ies) that the chaos and the bloodshed is more concentrated on?? whats wrong with this picture??

And I dont even want to mention what has happened in the last 16 years...its enough folks. Evil or Very Mad

What Hawiye people want is simple.

A government of the people, for the people and by the people.

Since this Tigre puppet government is created in a cheap foreign hotel by warlords and opportunists and they have turned these warlords into ministers and president, then it is a government of warlords and opportunists which does not represent the interests of Somali people.

Geedi has not be elected by Hawiye people to represent them so it is stupid to say that Hawiye has to support Geedi because he is Hawiye Exclamation

Geedi is a traitor, he satisfies the interest of Meles Zenawi and will face the deathpenalty sooner or later.

"Geedi has not be elected by Hawiye people to represent them so it is stupid to say that Hawiye has to support Geedi because he is Hawiye"

In your eyes/mind...so was A. Qasim, so was Aidid and so was Ali mahdi..
So that explains what you want......> More Chaos..more Sbaaro, more looting and more killing.

Abdiqassim was not elected by the people so was Ali Mahdi..

Hawiye people do not want someone 'crowned' President or Prime Minister in a foreign hotel...Since both governments ofAbdiqassim and Alimahdi were created in a foreign country both were destined to fail

Hawiye people will elect their own governors for their own regions and when all Somali clans succeed in that simple thing we can go a step further and elect our government for our country.

No more foreign actors into Somali internal affaires.

Power to the people Laughing

This "gov" is worse than no gov.
You dismantled a sharia system with help of gaalo and you want us to support a "gov" they set up for us.

Why can't they "gov" just send the Ethios home and introduce sharia.
Then we live happily ever after under their rule?

Madaxweyne C/llaahi Yuusuf oo Gobolka Hiiraan u magacaabay maamul cusub

Isniin, January 01, 2007(HOL): Madaxweynaha Dowladda Federaalka Soomaaliya C/llaahi Yuusuf Axmed ayaa maanta maamul cusub waxaa uu u magacaabay Gobolka Hiiraan, iyadoo xubnaha la soo magacaabayna aysan ku jirin kuwii horay uga talin jiray Gobolka.
--------------------------------------------

The people of Hiiraan, Xawaadle, Gaaljecel, Gugundhabe, Udeejeen etc, should not tolerate this shameless act by a Daarod warlord.

How can he create a regional administration for our regions while his own regions can create their own without the intereference of others.

How would he like it if a Hawiye man create an administration for Bari Question

Only the people of Hiiraan can create local government for their region, no one else Exclamation

Let us work with Geedi's government. At the end of the day, the TFG will work for HAwiye and not against it.

The minute it works against the Hawiye, it will be deposed.

Until then, let us watch and see what Geedi does.

The days of Darood domination of government are over. Afbiijo can not become the new Siyaad Barre.

CAWAR ... The Hawiye do have a reason to be paranoid about Afbiijo due to his numerous outbursts on Radio esp. his speech on the Carta government. Afbiijo also decided NOT TO Come to Xamar even though his Ministers controlled Xamar in 2004 to when the UIC kicked them out. For many months, the TFG in Xamar pleaded with Afbiijo to come to Xamar but he refused due to his fear of the city and its Hawiye.

However, that is in the past and Geedi is the Head of Government so let us see where things go.

AW

A. Yusuf is one person and he can be paranoid for many reasons..
Someone tried to kill him in Baidoa ...so Immagine how much his paranoia could increase.. Smile

However, Hawiye is a large and powerful clan, its their interest to have a functioning government, law and order esp. in the towns and cities that are considered hawiye regions ...its just mind boggling at times why would they be so afraid of one person...besides, its hawiye who refused Ali mahdi, it was hawiye who killed Aidid and it was hawiye that said no to A. Qasim...are you seeing a pattern here???

Anyways, I think its time to forget the past and work towards the building of the country which is long over due.

PS. This government has to work for all somali clans and not just hawiye..and the minute it starts working against the interests of all somalis...it should certainly be deposed . Very Happy

Cawar:

How do Darood, Rahanwein, Rer Xamar, Hawiye interests differ ?

We suffer from the same problems: health, education, poverty etc.

The problem with Somalis is that they equate individual politicians with clan interests.

What good has Abdullahi Yusuf done to his clan ? He murdered 100 young men of his subclan in Garowe. He started a bitter war among his clan.

So Abdullahi Yusuf like any character is interested in his own personal interests before his clans ?
