Somalis should've heeded Siad Barre's warnings

Post by Sir-Luggoyo »

I know Somalis have no sense of patriotism and their god (qabiil) comes ahead of everything that matters.

The late marxuum (May the Almighty have mercy on his soul) Mohamed Siad Barre was anything but treasenous, he was patriotic to the marrow and shrewd politician who knew -by instinct- what his opponents were cooking. Some say he was psychic, farsighted was another of his gifts and forte, but for sure, he was intuitive and insightful, bestowed with elephant memory and a brilliance oratorship.

He was once asked about two of the first Somali dissidents, namely Aideed and C/hi Yusuf and anyone who heard his response, anyone who remembers those words, will realize their echoing sounds in today's Somalia's current situation.

He said "Caydiid lafahaygaan uga baqaa, Cabdullahina dalkaan uga baqaa"

What he meant was, no matter how much Aideed strives for the top seat, no matter how much he favors my demise, one thing I am confident about is, he will never abandon the country and his sense of patriotism.

In A/hi Yusuf's case, he spelled loudly about the treasenous nature of the man and his indifference to nationhood, state or patriotism, in other words, he would sell the country to the first bidder in the blink of an eye without feeling remorse or shame.

See it for yourself today.

Luugoyo:

General Caydiid when he was in Bardheere in 1992 was offered a deal by Zenawi.

The deal was simple:

Renounce any claim to the Somali Galbeed & Ethiopia will help you put down any resistance to your authority in Southern Somalia.

Caydiid refused the deal by saying, " I am only one man and if I take this deal, the many of my countrymen will oppose me. I do not want to go down in history as the man who signed away Somali Galbeed."

The Ethiopians replied by saying we will arm all of your opponents to fight you.

Baxarow,

I wasn't a Jiboutian citizen then. I am just learning about my adopted country now, so ask me what happens after my application's acceptance.
