well, muslims had slaves , muslim or not but there was a great reward to free them. that is how gradually islam wanted to get rid of this unhuman practice.

i am not proud of it, but my family had slaves, we got it from zinjibar and they spoke arabic. i still remember awoowe othman. he was son of my grandfathers slave. he married somali woman though.
