Are sheekhaal and reer aw-xasan different clans?

I thought reer aw-xasan are sub clan of sheekhaal.
Yes they're 2 completely different unrelated clans that have nothing to do with each other.
i thought the same until i found out one of my tol was married to a woman from the reer aw-xasan clan ...
