I commend the young woman for following in her father's footsteps & for choosing to do something about Somalia's situation instead of sitting on the sidelines like many of us and complaining. As a young boy, I had the pleasure of attending her father's lectures with my older brother who was then a member of Elman's first youth club. Probably one of the few Somali intellectuals of our generation & a man ahead of his time (rejected qabyaalad, morally conscientious individual, etc). Someone who saw potential in Somalia in an era when most Somali youth were fleeing the country (late 1980s), not to mention that he was an innovator & owned a cool ass yellow Land Rover parked right in front of his Elman electronics store. He once told us about his negative experiences as a black man in Germany in the early 1980s & how much that shaped him in to what he later became. Though he was killed while his daughters were infants, it's clear his genes didn't go to waste.

Turb, if you are talking about the one in the military fatigue, yes she is in the military. She worked at Villa Baydhabo (desk job/inside the compound) when Dhegabadan was the commander of the army. I see ventured out She is a very nice and polite girl. I also met with a 22-yr old guy from London, UK who is now captain and liaison between the army and Amisom. These kids are excelling not only in the military but in every sector.

@Warsheekh - He once had an expo at Carwo Idko what feels like a lifetime ago & like I said, he was a man ahead of his time. As part of his show, he had this really tall man (we later found out he was on stilts) with what at the time seemed like an endless supply of blinking light bulbs. We skipped dugsi that afternoon just to go out and see it. I'll never forget it. He also used to have this aerodynamic bicycle and was an avid environmentalist, sponsored a couple of tree planting projects near Qoryooleey. His wife was also a very socially active person and at one point had a feeding center near Zoobe.

Their father was a good man albeit an idealist. My only worry is the over exposure of these young women in the media. Ilwad was already getting enough media attention but her sister now takes the cake. Why would she put herself at great personal risk by being associated with the SNA ? AS are still around and being front and center is not a wise idea.
