It's funny how I just jumped over your question. Just go to the bottom of an area like the general section then go to the bottom and click reply or something like that.

yungnfresh from the somalinet records aka search box I see that nobleman just recently posted this month and also
gatspy pragmaticgal said she would quite 2007 but still posted in 2008. I have yet to see someone say "I'm leaving" and just leave it at that.

why leave Somalinet though, it's the largest Somali online interaction website, by just being here you can get a good feel of what it is to be Somali, people have far worse addiction than Somalinet, what about drug/alcohol/porn addiction some of our members are suffering from. :?

we should be encouraging people to leave the streets and join Somalinet.

Some things are better in moderation. When you lose this control then its best to cut it off. I used to be obsessed with ketchup. Actully still kind of am but have not used it on any food for 3 days. With ketchup I am at the point where I literally cant eat anything without is. Anything. Before somalinet becomes ketchup its best to find a solution.

 @ Ketchup analogy. Love it.

Why not set a 24hr post count? I've been on sites where there were post limits per 24hr. Some as low as 25, others as high as 150. Set one for yourself, and ween it down to a weekly limit. Thing is, I really don't see a reason to jump ship, unless you have a principle that makes using this place difficult.

There are usually many factors in play, if you find this place is disrupting your habits and routine. You may even think it's physically difficult to go without it. But, consider the reasons why. If you can mimic those effects in person, outside the net, then do so. But cutting cold turkey and not replacing this medium for the desired gain will most likely result in you return. At best, after a year.

interesting thread. in the past i also made plans to leave this place but from time to time i would come back, but it was easy to keep away from snet when i was occupied with other stuff. only when the holiday break came did i start browsing here again. snet can be a useful thing but once the addiction hits in, i think like alpha said the best thing is to replace your time with something else. inshallah i plan to do so aswell, seeing as the new term at uni starts for me. after that im booked to go travelling across asia with some freinds, then the following year imma try get married, im gonna use that time to ween myself off this place once and for all

Olive thats a great idea. The best things I like about somali culture is the literature, history, and music. This blog thing could really work and be an excellent thing to keep us busy. I'll defeniely share the music with you through youtube. I will make the videos private becaosue I dont want them relasesed into the world for free
