Two Ethiopian Suply trucks & Troops WIPED OUT: ONLF ST

Jan 02, 2007 Eyewitness accounts from the city of Qabri Dahar this afternoon, Local time, confirm the destruction of two Ethiopian military personnel carriers that left the city. The two military vehicles were destroyed as a result of a surprise attack carried out by Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF).

The burning wreckage of these two military vehicles were said to be visible from Qabri Dahar city itself. There are no reports of any survivors in the wreckage even though both vehicles were reported to be carrying unknown number of Ethiopian soldiers.

Civilians both in Qabri Dahar and Doon Ciid have confirmed that the destroyed vehicles were part of a military convoy carrying supplies for the Ethiopian army currently deployed in Somalia.

Military support units sent to Doon Ciid are reported to have engaged a fierce firefight with the same ONLF unit that destroyed the two vehicles. The sounds of artillery and small arms fire were heard in Qabri Dahar city. There are no confirmed reports of casualties or death caused by this fierce firefight
