What if the kaffir occupied it? Would you say that Islam is no longer "the truth"?

So when something is proven to be false, you ignore it. Well, that's one approach.

It's not a challenge now. The Israelis seriously did consider it, back in 67. I don't think they could have pulled it off logistically though.

if something is proven false you re-examine it.
not ignore it.

Why would the Isrealis consider it in 67?
shoudnt they have gone for a second city like Alexandria or Allepo?

Because the Israelis were pissed at the Saudis specifically and the Muslims in general and thought that by seizing Mecca they could demonstrate who was really powerful and who was not. Sort of an "in your face" approach. Seize Mecca, to show the Muslims they could, then return it as part of an overall peace agreement. But I think this would have clearly overextended them logisitcally. Any force running that far down the Red Sea would be cut off from resupply. America could pull it off, landing on the coast, but not Israel.

strange i never heard of it.
they couldnt have done it in 67 and i dont believe they could now.
But thats stupid, after all the years fighting arabs they dont get them.

unfortunatley the arabs will get more 67's till they get any sense.

It did not get a lot of play, and I don't think it was ever a serious consideration. More like a passing idea. And I agree, the Israelis could not have done it then and could not do it now. The US trained and equipped a Saudi armor Brigade (OK, it wasn't for free, the Saudis paid for several actually) and F-15 Eagle Fighters. Principally to defend against Iraq. The M1A1s are equipped with 105mm L7 guns, which are inferior to the 120mm smooth bores, but nothing to sneaze at either. That brigade is located near Jordan close to the access road on the Red Sea. It and Saudi Air power would be a real deterent.

Do you seriouly think the Saudis can fight?
I know on paper they look very powerfull, ive seen thier order of battle, and equipment.

but i suspect that Jordan can come done from the Tabouk valley and sweep aside the saudi Armed forces.

The Saudis would do OK. I have a friend who trained them. They're not great, but they have good equipment that will help them compensate for their lack of proficiency. The Jordanians are OK, older equipment, better trained, higher morale. Between the two of them, they should be able to check any Israeli advance along the coast, esspecially given the length of the supply line we'd be talk about. Reaching Medina would not be enough, the Israelis would need adequate supply to make something really happen and take Medina and move on to Mecca. I don't think they have adequate force structure to do it.
