I swear I didn't write that. Sounds like something a 'Super Awal' would write. Laughing

I got banned from Wikipedia for writing a 'biased' definition for the now-banned term 'Mooryaan.'

but you know what ,technically it is correct.

that is if you count all the wrecks lying around.
Laughing Laughing

im pretty sure there were SAMs around, but they all are wrecks and part of the landspcape,

the M41 bulldog is utter crap becuase somalia never had it in the first place, but
there were some centurions but they are junk and have been junk since 91.
there are no spare parts available for the t-34 but there are some t-55's still in service.

The somali army left nearly 200 fiat APCs up in the north for us to play with, i dont know how many are stll running, same with the BTR's as well you can see them on all the websites along with the BM-21's.

all in all its mostly old soviet junk but we have managed to keep some of them running.

That's what I was thinking. I found a few photos of old soviet weaponry SAM's mounted on trucks. There's no use for SAM's so I'm guessing they don't work and its just the truck in use.

Some if it I can believe, but a lot of it is just crazy. Like Mig's. A few personnel vehicles I understand, but 4 tank battalions.. Confused

more like one tank company.
iam pretty sure there are less than 30 tanks in service.

20-30 tanks in a tank company, means about 100-150 in a battalion so 600 tanks?????
?????????
?????

i think Ethiopios only got about 800 or so.

20-30 tanks in Somaliland? How many do you estimate in the rest of the country?

Its just tough to believe that with a decent arsenal, Somaliland is so laissez faire when it comes to combat.. Surprised

Losing to small Warsangali and Dulbahante groups in Dahar, all over Sool, and even half of Sanaag. Confused

what combat?

there was never a real war that somaliland was involved in.

for example the last dahar episode was the defense ministers private project and only involved 140 men.
he had no support from the government, and he was even fired for is services.

Yeah, but these small skirmishes give everyone in the region (North Somalia) that Somaliland is Laissez Faire. That can't be a good thing. One thing can lead to another, etc...you get the idea.

Every time Mudug would get shakey, Puntland administration would send a few thousand men to stop the flames and make sure no one else tries the same.

Its the BORDER WAR itself that keeps Somaliland from gaining independence, so why not fix it with force if its possible.

I'm not coming down on you but its some questions I ask myself when I see stats like those above and countless rumors.

complicated.

we can kick anybodies ass if we have to , but the problem si that we are trying to build a multiclan state. we need the harti or at least a good number on our side.
if we start a war and we keep winning we will end up losing support.

puntland learned its leasson with thier failed attack in ramadan 2004, the adhicadey skirmish, so they wont be attacking again, and our loser governemnt will stop any more
adventures like the dahar one, so our soldeirs will not get to have any fun, any time soon.

its all foked up politics.
Somaliland will not innitiate a war, not even with a new government.

we are still in courtship, soober or later it will pay off.
