Most of us know about "GOOGLE EARTH". It's a Sattalite Program, that allows you to zoom into many regions of the world, either cities, towns, villages, or even smaller then villages.

I will try to focus on the Cities, Towns and Villages of Majerteens, and specially the place's where they make up at least 70% or more, lol which are very few.

Let us start with:

1) Boosaaso: a city which the U.N. Reported to be 80,000 in 2003, is said to be 300,000 today, even so, it is settled by all of Harti, it has thousands of "Somali Bantus", "Ealaays", "Oromos" On the Run, and thousands of other Somalis escapting from the war of Muqadishu.

2) Next big town down from Bosaaso is "Qardho"--
Qardho is rumoured to be the only place classified as a city with at least 70% Majerteens,
it has lots of Arab Saalah, Midgaan, Yibir, etc, etc....

3) Garoowe, this city is said to be 50,000-60,000: It is supposed to be ciise mahamoud City but it has considerable amounts of cumar mahamoud, but it is made up of 60% Majerteen, with 20% Mahamed Aden(Leelkase Subclan), and the rest 20% is others including other harti, midgo, yibir, etc, etc.

4) GAALKACYO ( WOW ) MY CITY:

Gaalkacyo is 250,000 people. It is said to be settled by many tribes.
But the largest settlers are ofcourse:
a ) LEELKASE ( Garsoor Section )
b ) Hawiye ( Braxleey Section )
c ) Majerteen (Israac Section) : originally only cumar mahamoud, but now joined by some 'reer bi'idyahan'
d) Wadajir: Is sorta centered area, settled by many tribe, awrtable, dir, madhibaan, abgaal, etc, etc.

The Percentage of Gaalkacyo settler's is like this:

:> 30% Leelkase

:> 30% Majerteen

:> 20% Hawiye (maybe even less, because walaahi braxleey looks like everyone moved down
to Xamar and Afgooye to greener pastures, lol, i do not blame them, lol)

:> 10% Madhibaan (Alot of Madhibaan in Gaalkacyo)

:> 10% Every other Qabiil you can imagine, lol, it's a diverse city!

The Counsel of North Gaalkacyo is distributed differently, with 12 seats for Leelkase, and 14 seats for Majerteen since it was Cade Muse a fellow Majerten giving them unfair due, and the fact they crying over 'reer bi'idyahan' needing share's, so on that case, we let this one slide, cause 'reer bi'idyahan are nice folks, unlike their dirty cousons.
Besides once a Real 'impartial' Somali Central Government is formed, there will be LOTS of changes in Gaalkacyo. Believe me!

Have we missed any other significant towns, or cities,
and please don't even mention "Kismaayo", because we gonna sit here all day and night
counting dozen different clans and subclans living there!

Cumar Maxamud run the airport/runway, mayoral seats, the suburban north, and everything worthy of holding.

Leelkase share lunch with Midgaan, and Sacad were invited back to the city when A/Yusuf chased them to Benadir in '94.

The World Health Organization would like to warn travelers to stay away from 'Garoowe' as there is frequent dust storms, termite attacks, and frequent rocks falling from nearby hills.
also severe water shortages, some years the entire village is evacuated due to extreme lack of water! Average weight of the adult male is around 95lbs, and the average female is about 40-60lbs, some females have no breats at all due to extreme malnutrition, so babies just cannot survive. that's why the population of the city never exceeds more than 20,000!
VERY SAD!

P.S. if you come across a local in "Garoowe" do not tell them about their short number's, they are very sensitive to being very small clan, and suffer extreme 'inferiority complex' - try to say words like 'inta madax madow iyo majerten', or wow Garoowe is "ONE MILLION".
They will be very happy, and offer you a dry piece of camel meat,
we suggest you do not eat it, but for showing of friendliness just take the meat, and throw away later!

Either way we suggest you avoid, Garoowe, Qardho, Qandala, and Burtinle as they are all the same starfing dusty villages!
