The Marehan are a Nilotic/Cushtic people of Sade (a lone clan of the Darood) , found in Kenya/Ethiopia/Somalia, numbering about 340,000. They inhabit the poor infertile lands of Somalia. The former language of the Marehan, af-boon language, is defacto and they have adopted Somali proper.
The Marehan are noted for raising camels and weaving baskets. In their oral traditions they designate themselves the people of the grey bull.
