Most definitely, Freaknik was the reason many referred A town the black Mecca. You haven't had fun unless you witnessed freaknik. Black people having blast & enjoying their Spring break vacation. It was mainly black college kids from every corner of America coming to ATL for spring break vacation. The streets (Memorial Dr, Peachtree, you mention it) used to be shutdown literally, packed with clean & nice rides. Biggie Small was big fan of FreakNIk, his kicking spot was either the Atrium in Stone Mountain or Club 12. Good old days Walahi when I remember....life was just beautiful & simple in the 90s. Freaking Cops killed it, they have started harassing the kids & arresting them, forcing crowds to dismantle. By '98 Freaknik was turning into WeakNic, less and less out of towners were coming the city, more and more cops were patrolling the streets and forcing crowds to keep moving .....Man, Mardi Gras had nothing on the Freaknik, you didn't have to give beads to get a peak. Chicks will just flash ...damn don't remind me the FreakNIk the A was never the same..... My older brother used to video tape these events and when he moved out, my mother was cleaning his room and she finds all these stacked tapes of Freaknik , one specific one had my brother at lenox sqaure with these chicks all over him loool my mom just destroyed 'em all .
