There were plans to invade Kenya after we had captured Ogade
but Cabdulaahi Yusuf informed Kenya of President M S Barre (RH)'s plans.
Now I do not know if it is true, but it is based on the account of ina Yusuf.

Lol. Shaaribahaygaan ku dhaarte.
That dude became a wadaad but was killed in Beled Xawo in 1990s to avenge the death of Macalin Xussien, a Baled Xawo businessman that was killed sometime before.

General Yusuf, in the 1970's had close ties with Ethiopia, along with many other rebel groups, however, never did he have ties with Kenya. During the 1970's era, in school there were several enlistments to join the army, there was a legion/division for every region of Somalia, and Kenya never came up, it was a thing of the 1960's. It would serve no purpose and president Siad Barre's economic closure with Kenya and their friendly treatment of Northeastern Somalis never prompted any attack or plans. It would be diplomatically and economically unwise.

I have never added that he had any ties with Kenya nor that he was hiding there. In fact, in 1978, ina Yusuf held a press-conference in Ethiopia disclosing this plan. The late president's main goal was to capture and secure Ogaadeenia first, and then advance towards the NFD. But due the unforseen circumstances (i.e. Russia and Cubia aiding Ethiopia), the plan was dropped.

Warsame101, it seems that you're simply making up all of your points. First you say he informed Kenya, then you say he never had ties. How can Yusuf as a stranger just walk in and inform foreign Kenya of Siad Barre's plans; wouldn't a war with Kenya just further weaken Siad Barre's army?
Again, what you are saying has no merit and there is no proof, sources, or confirmation from a second witness, let alone the fact that you probably were not around during that era to get a feel of the diplomatic and cultural stage; which is enough to assume, but you lack even that.
But, out of curiosity, who did you hear this from?

The source is in the The Times issue 1979.
Headline: Somali plan 'for invasion of Kenya'
Re: There were plans to invade Kenya after we had captured Ogade
It is more than likely the idea of taking the NFD by force after a succesful Ogaden campaign was discussed.
Warsame how do get access to the Times Archive?

Senator, it is subscription based. If your university is subscribed to their service, then you will be able to access it.

Yes, my university gives me access to Athens resources, but for some reason i've so far only been able to use the Times Archive database, which just gives me the titles of articles, not the actual articles themselves.

I think he should have attacked Ethiopia and Kenya at the same time, he should have used the same tactics used in the 6th day war, Now look egypt got its Sinai region from Israel and that war took place 4 years eirleir.
