Yeah, my mom, dad, and everyone else in my family was educated at Menonite mission in Jamaame. My uncle, an Isaaq gentleman from Hargeisa, came down to Jamaame to teach young girls medicine in Jamaame (collegiate level) and that's where he married my aunt--who was a student. But yeah, there was a huge flow of missionaries in Lower Jubba region.

My mom was born in Jilib around 1960 because her father was a soldier and stationed there---but she knows virtually nothing, especially in relation to the locals.

I look forward to your tales in Somalia, its opened my mind further about how the education system worked and a new dimension in missionary work.

Walee this this Grant guy is no short on bedtime stories to tell his grandkids when there going to bed. Half of Somalinet has exhibited subpar intelligence by actually believing these fairytale myths. Laughing

Found couple of gullible kids it what it is. I have always assumed Somalis had unmatched natural intelligence but I guess it is only the older generation and those who actually grew up in the culture/land.

These modern day Somali kids are a pedophiles dream come true. Laughing

Fah1223,

The closest I got to an elephant was a dead one some Italian paid big money to shoot. That elephant riding deal must have been your dream. Laughing
