AW,

The UIC came into power violently...they defeated Mogadishu warlords. They also aligned themselves with foreign terrorists and threatened their neighbors. True there was somewhat tranquility in parts of Mogadishu for a short period, but the rest of the country was still in turmoil, and even in Mogadishu people were being targeted and assassinated for political reasons. I don’t call that reasonable or stable government.

1. Reopened the Port and AIrport.

2. Ended the isbaaros

3. Reduced Crime all over.

4. Built confidence in Xamar allowing thousands of exiles to return to Xamar.

5. Opened up roads and neighborhoods to allow people to travel freely.

6. Returned stolen property to rightful owners.


The TFG based on its actions can not come close to comparison.

Name the TFG's greatest accomplishments on the ground.

I will try to debunk your imaginary UIC accomplishments one-by one...

1. Reopened the Port and Airport.

*They opened the ports after they defeated the worlds…. it was their interest.

2. Ended the isbaaros

*Again once they defeated the Warlords they manned the streets themselves.

3. Reduced Crime all over.

*They did not curb crime overall, they allowed their henchmen to manhandle the thieves

4. Built confidence in Xamar allowing thousands of exiles to return to Xamar.

*Those that went back to Mogadishu had other motivations…. some have established businesses before UIC came to power.

5. Opened up roads and neighborhoods to allow people to travel freely.

*Again they defeated the warlords who controlled these roads

6. Returned stolen property to rightful owners.

*That's debatable…. but there were few people who were linked to the UIC who received some stolen properties they lived in between 2002 and 2003.

Your accusing of me being 'partisan' is preposterous. There was no civility in Mogadishu while the UIC ruled. We were hearing civil liberties curtailed; people beheaded in public squares from rulings establishment of congruous courts that purportedly reflect Sharia laws. People were being jailed because they were cleaned shaved, etc, etc. I cannot list the endless abuses the UIC carried out while they were in power in Mogadishu. I have no inclination to believe the convoluted talking points of how the UIC were peaceful governing body and made Mogadishu peaceful…that’s Complete and utter bulshit, period.

Truly, I would be the happiest guy alive if we could just replace the TFG and have elections tomorrow. But we need to stop the endless bloodshed first in order to get the "TFG" out the way and have election. But what we are seeing is continuation of the same failed policies because again and again you will have the Asmara fockers, or some other group with no brain or solution, but with Ak-47. How do you break this focking endless cycle?

Jr i see ur point and ur entitled to ur point, but for me somalia died when the ethopians were invited even though ethopia now effectively has the whole nation in its grips and for those who think somaliland and puntland arent governed by the ethopians, they are kidding themselves too. u know why i say that walaahi this summer when i went to Boramee, freaking ethopian border was wide open and they would literally just cross it and their currency was every where like the place was an ethopian city, kinda sad but that's the truth. until somalians learn how to compromise and face reality they are all doomes. neither the TFG is perfect because they are bunch of Warlords who only care about themselves and than the UIC who i belive will go down in history as the first somalians who tried to mix religions with politics when we all know somalians have never done that and are a secular society.

Anywho, I exposed your little lies about the UIC's accomplishments, I went back to Mogadishu, I saw what they'd done, I was able to get back my property through a very efficient legal system, I was able to take a taxi from one end of Mogadishu to another end without ever being stopped (not a single isbaaro), not a single armed civilian, not a single shot fired at us, not a single attempt at my life. Peace & tranquility.

Can you go back to Mogadishu today and receive such hospitality?

P.s. I watched the 2006 World Cup at Nasa Hablood hotel and so did thousands of other residents of Mogadishu.
