[modern day arabic and quranic arabic are very different]

Wrong. Standard Arabic (written on books/newspapers/magazines, spoken on radio/TV) is pretty much the same.

are you talking about MSA? its very formal and complicated and hard to learn, most people who learn arabic start off with learning one of the many modern day dialects, which are useless if you want to understand religious texts

arabic is not even 1 language

an uneducated maghrebi does not understand a khaleeji

Wrong again. Arabic isn't complicated neither hard to learn. Tens thousands of young Somalis learned Arabic at middle/high schools (like Jamal Abdinasir); not "with learning one of the many modern day dialects." Also, most Somalis learn how to read Arabic at madrasah; that's how they know how to read the Qur'an.

arabic spoken in somalia is of poor level
