A British woman says the body of her soldier son was returned from Iraq with a leg and arm that were not his.

Janice Murray, who lives in Sunderland in northern England, told The Times of London the funeral director who handled her son's remains told her the left arm and left leg included with the body belonged to others.

Pvt. Michael Tench, 18, was killed by a roadside bomb in January. The Ministry of Defense has already apologized to Murray for giving her misleading information about the death -- that he had been shot in the chest.

She refused to accept the apology.

Murray told the Times she keeps thinking when she visits her son's grave what his body is like.

"I do believe there is a lot of dishonesty and mistrust," she said. "To not know is bad, to be lied to is even worse."

The ministry said DNA tests were done on the body parts before Tench's remains were released to his family for burial.
