Pakistan has Just Declared Martial law..constitution voided
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Faced with increasing violence and unrest, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf declared a state of emergency Saturday, government sources told CNN.
Musharraf issued an order proclaiming the emergency and suspending the nation's constitution, according to a statement read on state television, and declaring martial law.
Musharraf is scheduled to address the nation at 1800 GMT (2 p.m. ET) Saturday.
The Supreme Court declared the state of emergency illegal, claiming Musharraf had no power to suspend the constitution, Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry told CNN.
A senior Pakistani official told CNN that the emergency declaration will be "short-lived," and will be followed by an interim government. Martial law is a way to restore law and order, he said.
Shortly afterward, Chaudhry was expelled as chief justice, his office told CNN. Troops came to Chaudhry's office to tell him. His services is no longer need...

If America loses Pakistan it will be the end of the American Empire. The U.S will crumple just like the Soviet Union. Pakistan shares borders with Afghanistan and Afghanistan shares borders with Iran and as we all know Iraq and Iran share borders. Putting in danger the American troops in Middle East. This is when all Muslims will unite. The same monester that they created will cut their head off (Osama)

all Musilms could unite against America, and America would win. America has more economic and military strength than the entire Ummah.

so did Islam. It had it's day, it has come down, and now it's ready for history's dust bin. The Third Reich ain't coming back, and neither is any sort of Islamic empire. There are good reasons for this, if you are interested. The problem Muslims have in facing reality is, reality flies in the faith of your faith. But that doesn't change reality. Sure, America's power will wane. But it won't be replaced by Islam. It will be repalced by a multi-polar world. You think the billion Chinese and Billion Indians are going to suddenly embrace Islam?? Not going to happen.

Good point but one thing I know for a fact is in this world at the End ISLAM will prevail. Correct me if I am mistaken here, I think our prophet Mohamed (pbuh) once told us that this world will never be wrapped up until the Adhaan is heard every corner in this world.

Pakistan is a nuclear power and the west fears that if it falls under the hands of other than Musharaf. The whole region will be engulfed with voilence against the west. The Nato forces will no longer be safe in Afghanistan. Many Muslims will start a new Jihad in Kashmir to free the opressed Muslims from the hindus. Then the Israelis will be high concerned if Pakistan shares its nuclear technology with Iran. So those might be the reason why Pakistan is the most dangerous place on the earth. The west has much to fear becuase the first Islamic revolution happened in Iran, Somalia almost became the second but the Ethiopians were unleashed on them with the backing of the U.S. However, I think Pakistan will be the next spot where the world would witness another Islamic revolution. Man I love those pathans a.ka Pashtu people. Dude, I missed that place.

a welcome sign. The terrorist state must be dismantled and the writ of the government must be restored. 100% with Musharraf and his decisions. It should have been done a long time ago, especially after the Lal Masjid affair.

The Balochistan situation has been solved ever since the elimination of the Buqti gang. The situation in the Northern areas, especially swat and waziristan are little bit tricky, but i trust the ISI and MI to do their home-work in dismantling the terror network. Also, the people in the northern areas are with the government and in case of a fully dedicated military assult into certain towns/villages in the NWFP, they will side with government. The question remains, is the Pakistan top brass willing to go ahead with a military assualt or are they going to use scare tactics? Time will tell, but the US has given its full backing to Musharraf and when and if Bush comes to shove, Pakistan will have the last laugh. The terrorist threat is greatly over-exaggerated and the Pakistan intel community can make a short work of them if it so chooses.
