Re: DOES EDUCATION BENEFIT WOMEN?
What about the harm western co-education system caused to our once envy of the world xalimos? it is an educational system that is Xaram in Islam and drags our dignity on the dirt.
They are our sisters and we love them but some times you need tough love.
The more educated she is the less chance of getting married. "Her catchment area" of eligible somali male narrows.
The educated woman is more likely to marry and help foreigners like the Ethiopian enemies.
She is more likely to shame the somali name.
The less children she is likely to have.
Many more.
I am just thankful the educated woman has a higher IQ then you.

Saaxiib, from what I have seen it's the faaraxs that get influenced from the west not xaliimo's, there are exceptions though.

LacageyLacag,
Who said Western co-ed education is the only form of education available? There are tons of all-girl Universities in the world, both in Muslim & non-Muslim countries that offer women education in everything from sciences to liberal arts. Malaysia is a good example of this, they have over 20 Universities only for women and some of them even offer medicine, so women can seek an education without ever crossing paths with a male student.
In addition, how is "Western education" xaram in Islam? What you call "Western education" is the same style of education stolen from the Muslims of Andalusia and copied from Universities in the Muslim world. Prior to the Islamic civilizations, the concept of classroom teachings, graduations, seminars, lecture halls and intellectual discussions did not exist in Europe. It was introduced by Muslims, whether they were in Timbaktu, Baghdad or Seville (Andalusia).
Where do you think Western Universities got the idea of wearing a robe & a hat during graduation ceremonies? Muslim students who were their Khamiis & Kufiya during their completion of their studies over 8 hundred years ago.
Who was more educated than the wives of the Prophet (saw)? Aisha (ra) used to offer lectures to men who came from all over to listen to her. Educating women is a necessity, because women are the backbone of any given society.

Re: DOES EDUCATION BENEFIT WOMEN?
Warya koronto, 99% of muslim parents can only take their daughters to the local co-ed community school.
If my wife is professor or illitrate, my responsibilities don't change.
I have to feed, clothe and house her. Then I have to put up with all the kibir and her absence from home. She might have had a fling with a Tyrone in the past?
where did the education help?
The benefit of islamic education is not in dispute. Don't bring it here.

Lacag,
Arinta meel kale baad la aaday sxb! What does flings with Tyrones have to do with educating women? Every woman who ever attended a co-ed school had a fling with a Tyrone maad dhaheysaa?
Parents can choose as they please, but I know of many good Muslim private schools in the U.S. that produce excellent students, so there are always options.
If your wife is an educated woman, guess who benefits from that? You and your children, trust me you don't want an ignorant woman who can't even read the food labels at the supermarket and will end up feeding your kids pork products.
You seem to have a lot of resentment towards educated women for whatever reason, bal sheekada kala cadeey!

electric boy,
You have to be practical nin yahow. How many parents can affford to take their daughters to private Islamic school?
They take their daughters/sons to the free govt schools and argonise about what they see. They simply cannnot afford Islam education.
I am not hating on educated women. But you can't deny they are least innocent and I want a good girl. The schools and colleges expose them to tyrones, etc.

Lacag,
You've a weird taste in women if you think innocence equals not mixing with the opposite gender. Manners start at home, there are plenty of well-mannered girls who attend mixed schools without ever crossing the line. I remember going to school with a Niqaabi girl who graduated at the top of our class and is today a mother of 2 and a pediatrics nurse, she still wears her Niqaab to work and is a better woman than many others who were "Home schooled" and shyt.

Re: DOES EDUCATION BENEFIT WOMEN?
Education?.. Do you know what education means? How could you possibly say that as a Muslim? It contridicts too much in the deen of Allah. SubxanAllah.
One of the main aims/concept of "Education" is simply accuring knowledge that previously was not known!
The way you explain education is a disgrace to my masters in subject. It is not simply academic-based. Not simply western-based..
