Re: Researching Olol Diinle
I searched for "Olol Diinle" on Google, and I could only read a few of the sites.
AW252, when and where was he born, and when and where and how did he die?
What did he do during WW2? What happened after the battle of Goba? Did he retake Qalaafe?
What happened after the war ended?
A lot of my information comes from this article here: http://buuhoodle.nl/index.php?bericht=179

No Ashlee, J.D is no other than the guy who went by the name of Dhusadheere.
Re: Researching Olol Diinle
Olol Diinle was Ajuuraan (Beesha Shanaad or others), Born Ogadenia region, opposed The british colony and Ethiopia, captured with other nationalists, and died in Jail few years later. That's all. Now go ahead and rewrite history.

Re: Researching Olol Diinle
F**ken somalis , the man just asked you to translate the articale and all you did was argue among yourself.
Iam heading to work now, but tommrrow iam off i will translate that short articale.
"Intaas kadibna Cumar Samatar wuxuu heshiis la galay Boqor Xeeyle Salaase oo xukumayey itoobiya si uu garab uga helo una soo horkaco gumeysiga Amxaarada"
uncle ben
Thats a fact, Cumar Samtar Rooble was pro-Ethopia till he died and he was Heila Salaasi's personnel advisor on somali affairs throughout the somali independece era, Faarax Xayd another Qurjiile Harti was the transaltor and Abdirahman Saydi Abdulle Hassan was Ethopia's interior minister from 1956-1966.
You should read the memoir by Qaybe regadring the May 1960 somali delegations to ethopia lead by Micheal Mariano and the answeres of those above 3 sitted beside Heila Salaasi rejecting their somalinimo.

Re: Researching Olol Diinle
Thanks X.Playa!
I found some English sources that said the same thing, that after the Italians and the Corpo Zaptie invaded the Hobyo Sultanate, Omar Samatar started an insurgency against the Italians. Apparently the Ethiopians funded Omar Samatar's insurgency in response to Italian funding for Olol Diinle's raids.

1-Cumar Samatar Rooble ( Harti-Majeerteen)
2- faarax Xayd (Harti-Dhulos)
3- Interior minister Abdirahamn Saydi Maxamed Abdullah Xasan (Ogaadeen) (yes the son of the mad Mullah , who his education in Uganda university was payed by non other then his adopted father his excellency Sir Geoffry Archer somaliland's colonial governer till 1923)
4- Heila Silaasi
5- more then 4 Ogaadeen tribal cheifs
Those were the pro-Ethopia negotiators in May 1960 summit
Vs
The pan-somalia group led by:
1- Micheal Mariama (SNL)
2- Maxamed Xaaji Ibraahin Egal (SNL)
3- Sultan Abdilaahi Sultan Diiriye (Garxajis)
4- sultan Biixi Fooley ( Ogaadeen).
I'd add that story too from the Memoir of Ex-somaliland speaker of parliment Mr Qaybe ( Harti-Dhulos) who was an eye witness during the negotiation.

Re: Researching Olol Diinle
The Ajuran ruled a vast empire including most of southern Somalia and yet next to nothing is known of them. Isn't that odd? It's like a big hole in history.

Re: Researching Olol Diinle
There is a lot of oral history about the Ajuraan sultanate.
Olol Diinle has grand-children living in Canada. I am not sure if there father is there because he used to travel back and forth to Africa. If your are serious about research, contact the family.
