Puntland was supposed to be a Daarood enclave in the North to counter the Issaqs. Unfortunately it got hijacked into Majertenia and the union broke. Now Somaliland is either fighting or striking deals with subclans and the unity is fractured. Daarood strongholds in Sool, Sanaag etc. are being encroached and if the pattern continues who knows where it will end. Cadde Muse, Habsade etc. are criminals who are responsible for this demise.

But there's still the idea of greater somalia and that's still very much alive in my heart.
I would like to see somalia united before i die, from Djbouti to NFD
Somali 2003, the policy change the US is considering is to shift its focus from Mogadishu and to stable regions including Somaliland but not excluding other stable regions. What has been happening in the past 16 years was equating Mogadishu to Somalia. The US is saying enough is enough. Somalia is bigger than Mogadishu and the focus of US efforts should be on peaceful regions.
Do not forget, there is no official statement yet and the Pentagon and State Dept. still do not see eye to eye on this. However, it time for you to drop the Maakhirland nonsense lol!!
Niya, you are too narrow-minded. What is the shift mean? shift means money and weapons. Shift means buiding powerful institutions. Shift means building the infrastracture of the country.
Why do you object to the state of Makhir. You claim to be Darod. If you object to Makhir, you must also object to Puntland. Otherwise, you will be viewed as biased girl. I know most girls are very neutral and unbiased.
Ashlee, who are you calling slave. Did your Arab mom taught you to call the dark Somalis slave?
In Somalia, we have Arab slaves. They are known as Reer Xamar

Lug-Ganane, the so called Puntland has now lost the confidence of Dhullos, the last stakeholder to have a leverage on its one sided tribal policies. Expect some type of low-intensity conflict within the federation of Majeerteeniya clans.

Somaliland is not settling anything less than a full recognition. If the US supports that, then we are ok to deal with them. But if they are insisting on recreating Somalia by other means, then they are daydreaming. The choice is very clear, support Somaliland's independence or get lost. 8)
