Xaabsade is not welcome in Somaliland
Dear devoted Somalilanders: History is recorded in order to learn from it and avoid repetition of past mistakes. In the current upheaval of puntland, I believe Somaliland has learned lessons from the past history and actions of Mr. Ahmed Abdi Xabsade when he suddenly left Somaliland and opted for its destruction.
After leaving Somaliland, Mr. Habsade became a founding member of anti Somaliland group that initiated the establishment of the current biggest enemy of Somaliland, the so called Puntlnad region.
Mr. Xabsade was also the driving force behind the assassination attempt of Somaliland’s president Dahir Riyale in Lanscanod in 2002 and the subsequent occupation of Somaliland’s Sool region by Puntland forces. This occupation which is costing lives of our young men and millions of dollars that could have been spent on developmental projects is engineered by him.
He was personally supervising and leading the aggression against Somaliland until he was sacked by Cadde Muse. Therefore, he was responsible for the death of our young men at the frontline and must be put on trial for the atrocities he committed against our people.
Our government should not risk its already diminishing popularity to deteriorate further and allow this criminal to settle in Somaliland. Our people remember all his past actions and speeches on the BBC and can not be fouled again about his intensions. We know what he stands for.
Mr. Xabsade refused to accept Somaliland has a president Named Dahir Riyale and said on several occasions that they (Puntland) will only deal with the Isaaqis but not with the president Riyale.
We all know and remember how Cadde Muse returned the favor after all the support we provided to him and his defeated forces when they were chased out of Puntland by forces Loyal to Abdillahi Yusuf.
I warn the Somaliland authorities not to allow this man to set a foot on the country let alone supporting him against Adde Muse.
