it's too bad their parents will marry them off to their cousins immediately following high school.
Do you think these girls are reer xamar or something?

Stuff like that doesn't happen in the west specially in Seattle Washington.

These girls grow up here and they will marry who ever they fall for at the end of the day.

ps: No one gets married young around here.

somali people still have that "man of the house" provides for all mind frame, i've seen far too many somali girls fresh out of high school and some still in school and with great potential get hitched to men twice their age, get pregnant and/or have kids and drop out of school to become stay at home mothers. its been happening and it will continue to happen, every now and then we see one or two educated somalis sisters and we say mashallah, but the fact is that majority of them end up being stay at home mothers before they're 25, so i have my reasons if i am a bit skeptical about the future of a high schooler winning awards.

True that happens a lot but it is got nothing to do with their parents forcing them. it is usually them that can not control their hormones.

^^^^^ lol some what true.

High school to community College education should be enough for the most part for a Somali girl I think. The once that go off to University outside their cities end up really f.u.c.k.e.d up for the most part. They come back totally changed and stay single forever cause no one understands them or they just look retarded.
