But maybe what we need is to be smart and work with them . they will invest billions of dollar which will benefit somalis irrespective of where they are as compared to benefiting ethiopia

The fragmentation of Somaliland is honestly bad for all Somalis and by all somalis I include Somalilander as well. The only beneficiary from this would be Ethiopia who worked long and hard to divide and conquer the Somali people. So far they are doing hell of a job.

If American occupation of Mogadishu is used as an indicator of what to expect from the Americans, then I say the occupation of S/Land is something to look forward to.

Before I'm blasted I want to make clear the fact that American involvement in the Mogadishu is what triggered the economic boom its residents have been riding for the last 15 years. Things got nasty in Mogadishu only after Aidiid, a warlord, crossed paths with the Americans and not over the interest of Somalis in general but his sleazy interests. I do not believe the peaceful people of the north will make that mistake.

The worst the Americans can do is ship wadaads to Guantanamo and it's not like Raayale's administration isn't doing that already.

You are right, lets not forget that besides shipping the wadaado to Gitmo, they, the US are also looking forward to having coastal access and plently of military bases. Now its Djoubti and in time, its going to be all around Somalia.
