Mogadishu (dpa) - Vicious fighting rocked the Somali capital Mogadishu late on Sunday as mortar shells pounded houses, killing at least 12 people in some of the worst clashes in a month, residents and officials said on Monday.


Violence flared in south and north Mogadishu between Ethiopian-backed government troops and militias, one year since Addis Ababa sent fighter jets and tanks to oust a popular Islamist group that controlled the Somali capital, setting off a brutal insurgency.

On the last day of a year long occupation, brave men are still embattling the Ethiopian occupiers in the capital of Somalia. How many times did the Ethiopian officials and their Somali puppets proclaim victory over the Resistance? How many times did the Ethiopian officials and their Somali puppets say that they will finish of the remaining Resistance within weeks? Within months? It's been a year now, and the resistance is active in South and North Mogadishu, spreading to Bay, Hiiraan, Galgaduud, Shabelle, Jubba regions etc.

Indeed these brave men fighting a year long Ethiopian aggression are the true embodiement of the Somali spirit. Never has a proud Somali nomad accepted to be subjugated by Abbysinians, till 2007 brave Somali men are fighting them in Somali Galbeed, and in Somalia itself.

Which means, they know that whole regions inhabited by Hawiye groups will be engulfed soon in war. The Resistance is only getting stronger, one year to re-deploy the forces and in the meantime keep the Ethiopians and their Somali dogs busy in Mogadishu by daily attacks.

Galgaduud, Hiiraan, Shabelloyinka, Bay/Bakool and Jubboyinka will join Benadir in 2008.


2008 will be the year the Resistance is fully launched. Rural guerrilla campaigns will be launched.

As usual, day in day out, the Ethiopians and their Somali dogs are fought relentlessly.

As usual, Mogadishu/Benadir is the epicenter of Somali affaires, since the epicenter of the Resistance is in Mogadishu/Benadir.
