Don't you have to file tax return before you apply for financial aid? I applied last year, but i didn't know what to put for my state or federal withholding

I was like 2 sections away from completing when I lost my parents pin (after several tries; it wouldnt let me get a duplicate) I had to request a new pin and now I have to wait a week or some shid!

You don't have to fill out taxes in order to do the FAFSA, there's an option that says: "Have Not Filed Yet" and you just click that one, the Education Department will then get your income/tax info from the IRS, these agencies all share their files.

If your parents have an e-mail account or if you make an e-mail for them, you can get their pin in that e-mail which will take about 48 hrs to get instead of waiting for weeks.

You still have to fill out your income deductions(Federal and State). If you are over 24, they won't ask your parents information. I have one more year before before I get around the headache about my parents income

^You just click the option that says: "Have Not Filed My Taxes Yet" and then submit it to the education department, you can let them get your info on their own or you can make corrections to your FAFSA on the SAR (Student Aid Report) once you fill out your taxes. I've done it both ways.

I don't know in ATL, but I tired that a year ago and clicked 'didn't file tax', but they still asked me about my deductions. I didn't know what my deductions were, so I just summit it. The Financial Aid office of the school I was going then told me to bring my tax deduction from my employer. they denied me for making a lot of money. I guess I have to lie to them. If you are honest, you dont' get play

As for deductions, waa iska caadi waxaas, you just write down how many people you claim on your W2 form that you filled out at work.

My brother always filled it for me and when he went away to med school, my mom did it and now I do it for my younger sisters. The earlier you file the better definitely but I never really got that much from them but enough to pay school fees and books, thanks to BUSH.
